ZL1 69 colors?????

I think GM should offer a few of the 1969 ZL1 colors. The car is perfect in every way but having the option of some of the vintage colors would really boost sales of the ZL1 and help to make it more rare and draw in more of the collectors. Surprisingly they brought back the most popular name now lets see if the can bring back the colors. What do ya say GM?

My choice would be Garnet Red or Forest Green.

Still my favorite color of any 5th gen. An amazing looking modern interpretation of a famous color from the Camaro's heritage.

I don't know. This isn't going to come out like I'm hoping, but a lot of the new colors just pop and look better than the more simpler colors of the past. With new technologies and better materials, colors on new cars just look better, a fair amount of the time. I DO like a few colors from the past, but a lot just don't have that "pop" that you can get like you can. A great example is that new black that GM just developed; I forget the name, but I don't believe there was anything that nice looking in the past.

Colors are subjective, though, so I fully support what the market can get behind. I know we need a nice green

Black Diamond tri-coat, it's one of the most amazing OEM colors I've ever seen. Pictures do it absolutely no justice, I was in a trance when I saw it yesterday at the auto show.

The new Camaro color for 2012 is Carbon Flash Metallic/Black Granite. Is that what you're talking about?

I think I'm talking about the color Shurenuff posted. I KNOW I've seen that color, but I haven't seen the Carbon Flash Metallic/Black Granite. If it's like the truck's granite color, I know I like that!

Id really like to see a nice masculine purple. Something that has depth, but isnt too over-the-top. Also, nothing with too much flake. Simple, yet aggressive looking.

We've had many conversations about color - more than I can count.......

The paint systems at Oshawa are 'shared' - meaning that we build Camaro/Impala/Regal/Equinox in the plant - and only so many paint 'lines' - -
so the discussion of color gets 'lively' to say the least.

Obviously we (Camaro) do not want to agree to share all of the Impala colors - and of course, an Impala and an Equinox would not be real attractive in IOM or RY or SG.

So - it's a challenge to choose colors that allow each vehicle line to have a nice complement of colors that match the car's character. Colors like White, Silver, Cyber Gray, and Black are the easy ones! Light gold on the Camaro, on the other hand? Not so much...........

And for the record - I love LeMans/Nassau/Mulsanne blue--to me, it represents some of the best times of the 60s at Chevrolet...........and I especially loved the Blue Bowtie that we placed in the center of the grille of most of our 1969 products............

unfortunately when we offer bright blue, it doesn't exactly fly off the shelf..........

What IS true: If we were to offer 25 colors - we still would not make everyone happy. (.........and that's why dealers such as Berger Chevrolet and Tom Henry Chevrolet will paint new Camaros any color you wish....)

The little insights on how things work always helps to shed light on many of the reasons why things go how they go. I'm sure you guys would LOVE to give each and every one of us what we want, but, as you just pointed out, it's just not practical. I think many are too quick to point to the past and think that it's just as easy now to offer what they did 40-years ago, when, in fact, it's not. I can't begin to comprehend everything that entails making cars, but I sure like seeing behind the curtain
