LT1 bumper to SS or ZL1

Hey there guys,

I have a 2021 Camaro LT1 which seems to have the V6 Camaro front end. No fogs. What would I need, in addition to the new bumper of course, to convert it from my stock bumper to an SS or ZL1 bumper? Without their respective badges of course. Not trying to pretend like my LT1 is an SS (tho it is mostly hehe) or a ZL1... but I would prefer a bit of a more aggressive look.

Thanks guys.

SS front end is the only real viable option you would have, would also require new headlights and possibly writing harness. ZL1 front end won't fit, although there are aftermarket options.

Out of curiosity, why did you buy your LT1 over an SS? Personally, I prefer the sleeper look of the V6 front end and the SS “fangs” I’m warming up to, but am still not crazy about.

I may be the minority, but I actually like the LT1 front end. Put a splitter on it and it really wakes it up. I see far more SS’s around here. I have yet to see another LT1 on the street. I’d rather be different.

I agree with you Wrecks24! I have yet to see one where I live and I surely don’t see hardly any other ZL1s here. The Op should have bought a SS if he wanted the look but it’s his car to do what he wants to do.

If I were you, I would've brought the RS package. That gives it a more aggressive front end and some respective SS exterior cosmetic features.

Put a ZL1 bumper cover assembly on the car and remember you need to buy grilles separate no mater what bumper cover you buy. These is no reason why a ZL1 cover will not bolt up to the LT1 nose.

The fenders are different on non1LE, & atleast on the older ones the hood does not line up properly.

He would also need all the inner ducting as well.

Why is the fender any different on aZL1 versus a SS or a LT1, same hood on a SS and a LT1 for 19, 20, 21 I believe

Sorry to break it to you, but you aren’t fooling anyone. Most people assume a Camaro is a Camaro and has a V8. Non-car people I talk to don’t even know it comes with a T4 let alone a V6.

All the COPO cars were and are are built off the 1LT V6 body , same as the 2020-21 LT1. A copo look is the ultimate , take off the LT1 fender emblems and buy some COPO emblems, forget the ZL1 or SS front bumper cover and grilles.

The contour is slightly different & they flair out more to fit the wider front tires/ rim offset.

From what I’ve read, on older models, the hood physically fits, but doesn’t line up right.

PN example: RF SS Fender is 23221296 ZL1 is 84326264. The fender insulator is also a different PN & while I can’t find the SS PN I would imagine the inner fender is also a different PN.

It becomes a rather expensive transformation.

Add: From a cursory look even some hardware lists a different PN

gtfoxy, you’re wasting your time trying to explain to some people about the difference in parts so I would just let it go and let them spend their money changing their Camaros.

I’ve seen the COPO built off both front ends. Here is the SS front end on the COPO at Chevrolet’s website
