Really? Maybe it’s different in Canada for some reason.
Never mind!!! I just noticed that tire sticker above my VIN sticker duh. I’m gonna have to go look at it to see how accurate it is.
I should really look closer at my pictures before posting. Haha

If you're referring to GVW, that's not what the car weighs, rather it's the most the car CAN weigh fully loaded with whatever

The only way to know the weight is on a scale.

Trust me I know, I tow - a lot.

Look at my 2 images. The weight of the car is the GVWR minus the occupant/cargo. Both are on the door jam. This is the curb weight of the vehicle as it left the factory including all fluids.

Again, as the poster above mentioned, that’s the most it CAN weigh. Not what it DOES weigh

Go look at the 2 sticker in your car and report back.

EDIT - I even have the 2 stickers posted above his post - post #16

Edit Edit and I even have it circled (or highlighted or squared)

FarmerFran, the GVWR data on the door jamb sticker is not the car's curb weight. I posted the weights from the 2020 order book, that is the official info. The other sticker displays the tires' max load info.

It's 3883 pounds for the 2020 ZL1 1LE coupe with the A10, so 3600 lbs after installing a larger supercharger and additional parts doesn't make sense to me, unless significant weight saving steps were also taken.

The actual weight of my car is NOT in the door jamb. Perhaps I got jipped.

What is GVWR - it is the vehicle weight plus all fluids AND the occupants and cargo

It is on sticker #1

on sticker #2 there is the maximum occupants and cargo.

the difference is the weight of the car.

I never once said the GVWR was the weight of the car - I said the 2 stickers will tell you the weight of the car. Go look at your stickers... here I will post mine again...

Well, even though GVWR - all fluids - max tire loading = curb weight, I don't think fluids are typically considered as part of the car's weight for comparisons, because it would mean a variance of up to ~160 lbs (empty vs full tank), which makes these discussions difficult and error prone.

The GVWR on the sticker includes all fluids including a full tank of gas. This is a regulation.

What do your 2 stickers say?

FarmerFan is 100% correct.

Gross weight minus occupancy weight equals your actual vehicle weight. It's been this way for years and years on GM cars and most others.
