I realize you’re making a joke, but fact of the matter is, power upgrades will likely come in the form of electric motor swaps. Given the rapidly advancing state of electric motor technology, e-motor swaps could be easier than battery (and maybe even LS swaps) and might reap ridiculous results. Electric motors are delivering higher power in smaller packages with each generation. A generation can be as short as two years. It will all depend on accessibility. Skateboard platforms will probably be pretty wide open for accessibility. This is GM’s Ultium skateboard. Look at those two electric motors sitting up, waiting to be plucked.

Wow, can't wait for the exciting video of the electric motor upgrade "cold start". Instead of a chop it will probably have an extremely intimidating hum or buzz.

True. But it’ll come down to the question of what’s more important, sight or sound? The sight of quartermile time dropping like a stone vs the guttaral bellow of a nicely tuned V8. And this is coming from a guy who’ll be picking up his car Tuesday after LT installation and tune.

I definitely understand the appeal of speed and new technology but I'm at the point in my life where I don't need to be the fastest and newest. Sport bikes are quicker than just about any streetable muscle car but that's not a direction I desire either. Spinning this back to the OPs original question If I had to replace my 2LS Camaro I would probably jump into a new LT1. Minimal frills and good HP. The dilemma would be auto or manual, slight edge to auto for DD duties.
