How did you break the seal on the screws? I just tried with my Torx screwdriver and it wouldn't budge at all.

My dealer told me the same thing. I was told that it needs to go to the body shop.... for everything including the flocking that was needed fore the audio problem.

I know its been 3 and a half years since this thread was last updated but I had the same problem with my 1 week old 2018 V6.
The hood was lower than the front bumper so I went to the dealership to fix it. The idiot pull on the fender and bent it trying to "fix" it, than he said if he'll mess with the hinge he will fix the front but the rear part will be off so I should find a way to live with it.
About 30 min ago I did some reading and manage to fix it in 10 minutes by releasing the lower 2 screws next to the hinge. https://gm-techlink.com/?p=5622
I hope this info will help somebody else...

My SS has the same flaw. I fixed it by getting an Anderson Composites hood. HOWEVER....the AC hood ever so slightly rests on my Roto-Fab box, so now i have a tiny gap the other way LOLOL.

These hoods looks sick !
Unfortunately I can't order stuff from overseas as taxes in my country for auto parts are ridiculously high. (%48.5)

There is some additional hood adjustability at the hinges if fender gaps aren't perfect either.

I spent a good 40-50 minutes tinkering with it last year, took a bit longer as I had no help, but it was worth it, the gap is even all around and the hood closes very easily with the correct front gap and some latch adjustment.

Hahaha yeah...Oh and just to make it a bit worse, guess how much I had to pay (only 3 weeks ago) for a used 2018 V6 2LT Camaro......$72000 (that's USD) and that wasn't even the asking price !
It kills me to know I could buy a brand new ZL1 with some upgrades for a few grand less in the US

My '16 Camaro SS had the same misaligned hood issue, it was fixed at the dealership paint shop, they had to adjust it. Dealer split the repair cost with me. Car is a used GM certified, but for some reason this type of repair wasn't included.
