When these 5th gen Camaros came out, along with the Challengers, I had to take a good look at them both. I didn't like the way the Mustangs looked at all, plus there were tons of them everywhere, so that was out. I traded a 2004 supercharged V6 Mustang for my Camaro. I owned a 69 Camaro with a 327 and a Muncie M21 trans, also owned a 72 Dodge Challenger 340/4bbl and 727 torqueflight trans. Didn't like the Challengers because they didn't look like my old school one, they were too big,fat and bulky, just ugly to me. The Camaro on the other hand just did it for me, the body lines, the stance, and the overall way it looked just said "CAMARO"!! Then when I got in and sat down in the drivers seat, it was love all over again!!So totally reminded me of my 69 interior set up. Took her for a test drive and that is all she wrote!! She went home with me the next day. And now she is 10 and still young and pretty, and powerful!! Love my Camaro..

Never wanted a Mustang in any trim form.
Always had GM / Chevrolet, Oldest brother had
the same used '69 Camaro twice guess that affected my
choice at a young age.

Hmm let's see:
1. Styling/appearance
2. Powertrain
3. Engineering
4. Performance
5. Preferred Camaro model to Mustang GT

These are the reasons why I didn't even look at a Mustang GT. Not that a GT is a bad car; It is probably is a competent Ford performance model. It just doesn't have IMO the characteristics of a Camaro that I found to be appealing.

Decided to buy the 2010 Camaro when I saw pictures of the show-car in 2007. Had a '69 Camaro in the mid 80's and loved the retro look.

After I ordered my Camaro, I priced a comparable Mustang GT and Challenger R/T & SRT8 just for fun. Neither could match the horsepower-per-dollar. Still haven't heard of a car with 426HP or more for under the $34,425 that I paid for my car.

I'm a life long ,60 year old, GM brand loyal guy. Never liked any Mustang or Ford of any type. I'd get a MOPAR before any Ford or any Import car of any kind.

Not a Ford guy.

Besides every little girl dreams of having pony

My GF would take away my man card, she thinks a Camaro is more appropriate for a guy

I always loved the first gen so when GM introduced a modern interpretation I started saving. My brother in law worked at a Ford dealership when I bought my Camaro so I had to tell him it was nothing personal. He was just selling the wrong car.

2011 - I liked the 5th gen as a concept, didn't like the final product. It was between a slightly used C6 or a new Mustang GT, went with a C6 didn't look back. I did like the Coyote, bought an F150 with one a year later.

2018- I was between a 6th gen SS and a PP1 GT, the MT-82 issues kept me from pulling the trigger. Didn't want an automatic car, wanted a manual. Ended up finding my 1LE with 2800 miles at a car max, went for that, hard to argue with with Recaro seats, NPP, Mag ride, etc for the same price as a base PP1 GT.

The 1SS doesn't have those and A-piller visibility is the major weak spot. So lane changes are dicey.
A-pillar? What? It's the B or C (whatever it's called on a coupe) such that when you turn your head left or right to see who is in your blind spot you can't see shit.
