In case no one else mentioned it... get a Dragy! They work great! No trip to the track required. Very accurate.

Trouble with that is how do you do a good burnout on the street and rarely can you get the bite from a dig like you can on a prepped surface which kind of works against you imo. Good practice though for 60 ft times and 0-60 time. Hell if you can improve in those two areas on the street, you should be better on the track also.

Update: Did much better this time. 2000+ DA. 90 degrees out.
My best run was 1.9 60ft with a 12.6. Pretty stoked I got a 1.9 on the Goodyears, didn’t think that would happen.

The hot pavement will typically help 60 ft times on a factory tire, did damn good for a manual trans car with the OE tire.
BTW, At 90 degrees, what was the DA reading of the day?

Thanks man, it was 2000+ by the time I was hitting my stride with the launches. Was a good day to practice, barely anybody there. Was hot lapping basically. I think my trap gets stuck at 111 because of heat soak.

In the morning when the DA was around 1200 and temps were in the 70’s I was trapping 114 but my times were high 12s low 13s 2.2 2.1 60’s. As it got hotter I noticed trap speed go down but 60’s were getting better. Then I ripped my PB for the day.

I indicated on your original post that you probably will not see much trap speed difference when you start getting decent 60 ft times, and now you see that. Trap speed is so very power sensitive, hot high DA kills power. Its very hard to get a 1.9 60 ft during a 500DA day and no sun you will go back to 2.1 60 ft times , but your trap speed should rise 3-4 mph. I typically never think about trap speed, but work on 60ft times and ET. Once you get that where you want it, have the car dyno tuned to get your power in the higher side of average versus the weaker side of average. Get a good 1.9 60 ft on that 500 DA Day and hit every shift perfect, you should see a 12.3 @ 114-115 mph.

Thank you for the feedback. Really does help when I'm replaying the events in my head.
