Thanks! Yeah I wanted to try to protect the front of the car as much as I could before having PPF installed, so I purchased a nose mask. I had one very similar for my C6.

It looks like a Novistretch. Did it mar the clearcoat, do you see any microswirls or haze (I know the PPF installer will probably get that out, but I'm still curious)?

It is a Novistretch mask. I didn't notice any microswirls or haze in the clearcoat. When I got home I immediately removed the mask, then washed clay barred and used Zaino All in One on the car. And the PPF installer didn't say anything to me about the paint after installing the PPF. He only said that they prefer to install PPF on as new a car as possible, which mine was, before it has many miles on it.

Thanks ZPirate. Enjoy the beast, now with even more peace of mind thanks to that sweet self-healing film.

Thanks Arpad_m. It is nice to know that the front is protected from rock chips and bug splatters. We have lots of bugs here in eastern NC.

Just picked up a set of take off leather knee pads from a forum member. Since my car is a 1SS it came with hard plastic knee pads. I replaced them with suede knee pads, but now I'm considering mixing the suede and leather, with leather on the doors and suede on the center console. I just don't like the suede on the doors next to the leather armrests. Thoughts?

Yeah I think the leather would look better on the door. Probably on the console as well since it will match the armrest and seat bolstering.

Thanks. I was thinking the suede might continue to be fine on the console since is more closely matches the shift knob and boot. But I understand the connection to the armrest. Decisions, decisions.

For now I've decided go with leather knee pads on the door and suede on the center console of my 1LE. I like the contrast stitching on the doors with both the knee pads and the armrests being the same.

Suede is fine on center console knee pads because of the alcantara on the shift knob and boot. Here are pictures of the doors with both options and the suede on the center console.

Yeah the suede looked off on the doors. Leather looks much better with the matching stitching. This is good to know, I plan on adding these at some point.

Thanks! I agree with you regarding the doors. I like the leather better. Still not sure about the center console. For now I'm going to stick with the suede there.
