It's up to you, the plaque has no tape or anything else on its underside. I used small pieces of strong velcro (the 3M wall fixture type) and they've stayed put just right since 2018.

I ordered one from Chris as well, had an off-center cut initially, but he sent me a new one. Good customer service!

I haven't mounted mine yet, I was thinking 3M automotive double-sided foam tape. Is that what people typically use? If so, how much? I was debating if 1" square in each corner would be sufficient? Or do you typically do the full perimeter to be safe?

I opted for the "gloss" coating - for $5 I figured it might protect the text a little better.

While it's described as a gloss coating, it's more of what I would consider a matte finish. It's hard to describe, but is not an automotive clearcoat type of gloss. You call tell there is a finish there, but it's almost like it's pixelated, if that makes sense?

This is what it looks like with and without gloss. On the red car its without gloss and I added carbon fiber background. I wish I added gloss then. The rapid blue car has gloss and it looks alot better. I added double sided 3M VHB tape to the back of the plaque and I havent had any issue so far and i am at 1400 miles.
