Anybody running a 17x10.5 rim in the rear

Looking at the Race Star Drag Star wheels. I spoke to Race Star and was told the both the 9.5 &10.5 wide rim will fit the car. "Most" guys here and vendors sell and run the 9.5 wide rim. The rims have 6.0 inch and 7.0 backspace respectively so poke will be identical the rim is moved inboard an inch on the 10.5. I will run the same 305/45/17 MT ET street R regardless of wich rim I choose its just the 10.5 rim will flatten the tire out a bit more onto the ground. Car is stock ride height just looking for any info here thanks.

I am running the 10.5 race star drag star wheels with the 305/45/17 MT ET street SS tires. No issues with fitment or rubbing. I am only running back and forth to the track and at the track.

Ok great the ET Street R is actually a tiny bit Narrower than the SS so this should work out well. Thanks for posting

May want to consider a 315/35/17 26 tall tire. It is proven faster on cars with similar mods to ours

You'll do great with the 305 et street r and have more room to grow. I'm running them now. But you will go slightly quicker with your current setup and the 315

I bought some today hopefully it works for me too and I didn't waste money. I'll be keeping my 28 setup as well.

17x10 welds on mine. No issues with the 28x10 slicks.

Any idea how the ABS etc is gonna react to having a different tire diameter in the front vs the rear?

I got some front 26 as well.

I have heard you can still have an abs issue and have to pull a fuse or something worst case scenario. Looking into that more.

Yes I believe Bhill mentioned that and said power steering doesnt work when you pull the fuses

Correct...IF my car actually reads NO TPMS sensors in all four wheels then I cam OK to be able to click two times for everything off. For some reason, the car sometimes does not read like that, therefore I have to pull the ABS Fuses to disable everything. And yes, your power steering is off as well. Not a big deal for me at the dragstrip tho. Like driving an old car without PS.

I know but thanks. I was worried about another issue not allowing to turn these off or an abs error

Ok thanks for clarification. I just had a similar problem I posted about from a low pressure warning.

The way I read your posts in the past sounded like the 26 tire setup caused another error with the abs system or something. Good to know it's just minor with the tpms. Once my drag pack has been on for about 20 miles and the system totally gives up my nannies will turn off and I'm good

Loving this thread. Still trying to decide on what wheels I want in the rear. Are there any fitment issues related to my 1LE with 6 piston calipers?

I don’t think you’ll be able to squeeze a 17” wheel over them.
