Good luck, Greg! I’ll pray to the drivetrain gods that your DS and axles survive the onslaught….

Thx, letting the slick down to about 15 lbs for a little more cushing for the axles and DS

Well it was a nice day, but not as good as last fall when the DA was almost negative and temps in the 50s. DA today was from 1150 to 1900 and temps in the upper 60 to almost 70. Car ran great, no timing pulled but the blower is making more noise which I think is causing some of our knock. Best pass today was 9.86@142 w/1.44 60ft, 9.91@141 w/1.46. Wish we could have run yesterday since is was real close to last fall. I'm not unhappy with the results, would have liked to have gone faster but just didn't happen. Those two passes were on the 95mm pulley.
On the 98mm pulley we ran 10.02@140, 10.002@140 and a heat soaked 10.06@138. Got stuck behind a car that was taking a lot of time and they held me too long with the heat building. I could probably pick up a little 60ft with a drag radial but not want to break the DS or axles. The slicks with the softer sidewalls just help out the suspension but maybe take a little away from the 60ft. My car is still pretty fast on the back half as it picks up over 30 mph from the 1/8 to the traps.

If you had the same air from the fall it definitely would’ve been faster. Last fall were you running a drag radial? Good job for sure! Still moving out

I agree, probably at least a 1/10 quicker. No, same slicks from last fall. I ran both slicks and drag radials on my Magnuson SC 16 SS and the drag radial were always quicker thru 16' and I think most have found that out. I think the quickest 60' I ever had with that car on slicks was 1.39 and best on the drag radials was 1.35. I might switch if I race next year which is still up in the air, but I'd have to add DSS axles and Chromoly DS.

So, the plan is to go back on the 8th and make some more progress and work on the front half of the track since we are running really well out the back half. I didn't even get to drive the car before I hit the track for the first pass after I got the tcm tune at 11pm on Saturday night. So, I only got 4 passes after that, I had a couple things is was working on with the larger pulley, I think we achieved that with the 2 10.00 passes and the 10.06 since I'll be running that on the 8th. Then I was trying to get my NHRA license which I did with the two 9 second passes which NHRA requires for the 9.99 to 9.00 license. So, I happy to have gotten those two things taken care of. Plus most of the racing the rest of the year will be 1/8 mile so we can work hard on getting the car into the 6.20s, I made another 6.38@111 pass so I think we can make up 8/100ths with some more timing and working on the trans tune. We got it to where it is pulling no timing on the launch so that's a plus. No disappointments here at all, just another drag racing experience with no broken parts.

Well sounds like it was definitely a successful day then. Good to hear you got the tq management resolved. Was it those torque tables we discussed? Congratulations on the NHRA license!!

I don't think Phil even adjusted those. He did other stuff but not sure what. I just load and drive. Haha He didn't do anything to Mike's ECU tune, just the TCM. We'll get there just the process you deal with when drag racing. I really messed up by not sending the blower back to SCOL and getting the coupler replaced. I had the whole winter to do it and I failed to do so. I may have to do it when it gets hot and I'm not racing in July.

Right on. Is the coupler going bad? When I built my car I wanted to do the 2300 kit but they were already rolling out the 2650’s, and couldn’t find one. I went PC because my buddy had the 2650 and I wanted to do something different. I’m kinda wishing some days I had gone PD. Hahaa

Yes, this was a used 2300 I got from SCOL, they weren't aware the coupler was bad as it was trade in on a 2650. They said the repair it but I didn't ship it back as I was planning to. I couldn't find a 2650 last year so I took a 2300 which I also had on my 2016 SS before I went to a 2650 on that car when I worked for Magnuson.

Runs stout. You basically ran last years PB in more average conditions. It would go even faster if you disabled all upshift torque reduction on the shift. I would only do that at the track and I am honestly not sure how much the 10L80 would like that. Might have to ask around but it's worth almost 2 tenths and 2mph on my car but I haven't run it that way for a couple years because now it just breaks the tires loose on the shifts on the street. On the 3.5 pulley it would just chirp tires on the shifts.

Thx King, may not have went as fast as I thought it might but still happy with the outcome, as you said it was under warmer and much higher DA than last fall. I swore I could get it in the 9s with that larger pulley but sure as hell was close at 10.02 and 10.002. Close but no cigar. I love the way it back halfs which you can feel it just hauling the mail, I never thought it would run almost 143 mph on a stock motor.
