Depending on the severity of the issue I may have, I’ll keep my original parts and consider re-installing them.

If you need warranty work done, just take the catch can off the car before going to the dealership.

Don’t drill a hole into the stock I take elbow, use the fitting that is already there on the bottom. Get yourself a replacement vacuum hose to replace the one you tap into for the catch can install. Those things are not very expensive.

They’ll never be able to tell you had a catch can on the car.

Sounds like a good idea, what size is the vacuum line?

That IS a great idea. I wasn’t enthusiastic about drilling into the elbow for the warranty issue as well. For clarification, the vacuum tap off of the intake elbow bottom is the “Alternate” source and the one that tees off of the brake booster supply is the “Primary” source? I’ll discuss with Elite but if BEST to drill into the elbow I’ll simply buy another elbow, pricey I’ll bet but I’ll sleep better knowing I can completely reverse this if necessary.

Thanks Alain,
Chris

You don't have to drill into the elbow.

A nylon TPT T to hose barb does the job.

It ain't rocket science.

I’m not sure what a TPT T to hose barb is, could you please explain further?

Thank you,
Chris

Check this thread out and go to Post #12. I think the poster had a typo and meant NPT T to hose barb. I used Part #T4-6BN by Eldon James

It is both. 1/4” NPT to 3/8” barb.

Im not sure what size the line is, if I had to guess I would say 3/8. Find a diagram on GM parts website and buy it from them. Or get your local dealership parts guy to get you a part number.

Then go online and look for a reasonable price. Dealership’s prices are not reasonable. I’ve done it before.

You are welcome.

When I first did my CC install last year I was worried about drilling into the elbow in case I needed to bring the car to the dealership for warranty work. So I looked up the price for a replacement OEM elbow. It wasn’t more than $100 if I remember correctly. I didn’t realize I could have just used the existing vacuum line on the elbow at that time.

Then fast forward to this winter, I was pretty sure I was going to get a Roto Fab intake at some point so I didn’t buy a replacement OEM intake elbow.

For my Roto Fab o take install I am using the existing vacuum line. I don’t want to drill into the Roto Fab in case I want to sale it later.

I've installed catch cans on every boosted vehicle I've owned (including Kawasaki 300X jet ski) and always saw a significant reduction in oil dilution - obviously the higher the boost the worse the problem gets. A possible exception to this is the new Civic Type R which has a unique baffle system built into the head. The system seems to be effective keeping blowby in check

Blowby on my '16 SS Camaro was minimal.

WOW!! That’s an INCREDIBLY GENEROUS offer. A chance to learn from professionals, what could be better? I’ll contact them today to set it up.
Btw, my E2-X was delivered a few days ago. The fit and finish of the Can makes it a piece of automotive artwork. Someone put a lot of love into this.

Will contact shortly,
Chris
