Prob because of the devilish sounds the short block V8 makes.

Who buys a GT3 RS, pays to have a roll cage installed (because U.S. spec GT3 RS's don't get them) and then doesn't have money for maintenance and repairs?

Project car that is finally complete and priceless as far as sentimental value versus a new Camaro that is quite a bit more affordable if it gets balled up going off track?

don't know man, just putting this out there.

This. I know multiple GT3 (RS and non) owners that only track the GT3s occasionally but prefer more disposable track cars for normal usage.

Heck I'll be doing that with the 1LE.. it'll be tracked, but probably only 20-25% of the track days I do. My reasoning isn't completely financial as I need to maintain seat time in the cars that are actually raced vs HPDE usage.

I did a couple laps in a new GT3 RS and didn't know physics worked like that.

Hey Nick did you get a feel for your suspension mods? Do you feel like they made a worthwhile improvement?

Update on the reason for my engine catastrophe took Parts, connecting rod bearings and such to well-known engine builder and he said without a doubt I had major detonation as the bearings on a connecting rod especially the top bearing was seriously damaged.

I wonder if a piston pounding on an intake valve head bouncing around the combustion chamber would show the same bearing damage as detonation.

Because the 6th gen Camaro is awesome. I have an ‘18 GT3 I track, but I would also track my Camaro SS and have tracked my ZR1 for years. The Camaro is an awesome platform which I guess is why we are all here.

I will say I’m glad Nicky has the PDK in the RS so he can’t overrev that one too. <—- just giving you a good natured ribbing. . The RS motor is way over $40k to replace IIRC. That’s basically the cost of an entire SS 1LE.

Sorry for your misfortune. Live and learn and enjoy your even better replacement engine!

Did the piston or rings show any sign of detonation?
