Cool BMR BK063 Rear Cradle Lockout Review

Parts:
1. BMR BK063 Rear Cradle Lockout Kit

Sold Separately
2. Forward, Rear Cradle Bolts: Part # 11547921 (74ftlbs + 90- 105 degrees)
3. Rearward, Rear Cradle Bolts/Stud: Part # 11611819 (74ftlbs + 90-105 degrees)

Installed at: Redline Motosports, Florida - 1 to 1.5 hours

Car: 2017 Camaro zl1 M6 with breathing mods - weekend car

The BMR BK063 is necessary to greatly reduce slop and movement of the OEM rubber cradle bushings!

Before Install:

1. Flat footed acceleration was smooth yet damped, almost like a roll into speed.
2. Rear end would move unpredictably at high speeds while changing lanes over un even pavement and become slightly unsettled over pavement lane reflectors.
3. While changing lanes quickly, rear end would catch up to the front end.
4. Taking sharp high speed turns, the rear would "waggle" and was not confidence inspiring.

AFTER Install: (seat time - 3 days approx: 50 miles)

1. YOU CAN FEEL EVERY BIT OF ACCELERATION FROM ANY PEDDLE POSITION!
2. Rear end stays planted while changing lanes over un even pavement with no lateral movement.
3. The rear end moves DIRECTLY inline with the front end during acceleration while performing spirited lane changes.
4. Taking turns IS NIGHT AND DAY compared to stock, confidence up 90%!!

Conclusion:
Shame on GM for not making this device factory!
If you have not done this mod on a regular ZL m6, you are truly missing what our cars feel like with hardly no wheel hop....this is truly a bolt-on where you WILL FEEL THE DIFFERENCE IMMEDIATELY!!

Shout out to Howard from Redline Motorsports!!

Sounds good. I keep going back and forth on this and the 1le kit. The plus to this kit is you can do it in your garage vs the 1le needs the cradle to be dropped.

Correct!...I also understand the 1LE kit will increase NVH...the BK063 kit does not,,

The car is mainly on the track so NVH is fine.

Huh? I just looked at the BMR instructions and multiple times it mentions the cradle needing to be tilted or dropped…..

He did the lockout kit. The cradle only has to drop a tiny bit to get the bits in. It's not a true solid bushing. The kit only fills the gaps in the factory bushings. I had the same kit on my 17', and it does make a difference. I plan to do the solid bushings on my current car.

Very nice kit for sure. Had it and all BMR arms on my 19 and the rear felt drastically better. When my new gets here I’ll do the cradle and diff lockout on it.

You get 95% of the same performance as the 1LE pieces at a fraction of the cost and much easier installation. It's a no brainer really.

I have the same BK063 lockout kit, its price is actually the same as the ZL1 1LE solid bushings (or at least it was when I bought it), but installation is way easier indeed.

I thought the 1LE solid bushing kit was over $500, last time someone posted it, maybe I'm wrong.
