I'd love to find a used ZL1 A10 for around $50K w/low miles. No luck so far.
I think you could find one for around $50k if you call around and haggle a little. If not, you should be able to find one this winter for that price.

My Focus ST does rattle some too and it has such a high Clutch engagement point; hopefully the clutch isn't going out with under 40k miles on it. Do you go by Nomadic on the Mustang Forum by chance? It's a random question but I was curious.
Yes, Nomadic there. Stop stalking me.
So the ST is your main car?

Yes, the ST is my only car. We had talked on the Mustang forum, that's how I remembered you from there. Did you sell the supercharged GT?

Ah ok. I remember now. Yes sold the GT. Just got tired of the hard ride and the noisy shifter and how I barely drove it. Looking at an A10 ZL1 but not very seriously. Got interested in the A10 after driving the Mustang GT A10 and was really impressed. But the ticks that it has (my test drive of one had it), the seats I found avg at best, no power recline (ridiculous for a car that expensive), and headrests too far forward IMO......turned me off enough to pass on it.

I can understand not wanting to spend that kind of money if you don't absolutely love it. You might try looking at similar cars i.e, Hellcat, Z06, etc and see if you like any of those.

When I bought my car this past May I had people telling me they would be down in the $40s by fall. That certainly is not the case in my area. I am glad I didn't wait. You might be able to get a black M6 car for low $50s, but an A10 car I doubt.

Hellcat or ZL1 automatic are my top choices. I don't want a Vette. And the Hellcat while it handles well for it's size, is too much of a barge, I think. The Z11 is full package IMO. The only knock on it is the same as any Camaro; visibility isn't the greatest.

I agree unless Chevy comes out with their 20% red tag. But even if that happens, I could see it excluding ZL1s possibly.

Depends on the car and available financing, but any decent investor will tell you that using capital on a depreciating asset isn't a good idea - it's better invested elsewhere while you take advantage of low interest rate financing that often comes with new car purchases.

Now if you get low interest rate and pay it off fast, then interest is very low. I paid mine off in 18 months. My title is on the way.

Agreed, and for the 0% interest loans, there is no advantage to paying them off unless you need to free up cash flow.

You get 0% loan, you get little or no discount.

Why the fascination with paying cash for cars? Your typical credit union (let's use NFCU for example) will charge under 3% interest over the life of the loan (if you even keep the car for that long). If you were to make payments on that $60k (assume zero down, which is very easily done at most credit unions with halfway decent credit) you'll pay approximately $4,687.29 in interest over 5 years.

Take that same $60k and put it on anything! Even the lowest risk investment should yield 5% + and you'll stay liquid and keep your options open for other sudden opportunities that require liquidity.

Just hate car payments and interest. Like low overhead. Of course most of my cars have been $15-20k cash used. I get the equation though. But I’ll never finance $60k. Gas, insurance and a $1k car note every month for a toy....ahhh...no.
