Note to Track drivers
Just because ONE side of your brake pad has material, doesn't mean the OTHER side does.
I had 1.5mm on the thin side, yeah there's a little pad-taper. Moral of this story: Take your brake pads off to check depth

Haha, I think I'm going to be right there with you when I get back from vacation and pull these 1st set of pads. Ran NJMP last week and probably should've pulled them to verify thickness.... I think I survived without rotor damage. We shall see.

You can get a good idea of the remaining pad thickness just by taking the wheels off and using a measurement tool like this at the top, middle, and bottom of each pad while it is still installed in the caliper.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09X43JK7S/ They are also sold at Harbor Freight and auto parts stores but I recommend metal ones since the plastic ones will start melting within a few seconds if the brakes are still hot. |
