Replacing the under-hood emissions sticker after a hood swap?
If you swap a different model-year hood onto your sixth gen, is there a source for getting a replacement "VECI" (vehicle emissions control information) sticker that matches the year of the vehicle?
Although "it doesn't matter and who cares" might be most practical answer (and the local Chevy parts counter guy didn't know either), I figured someone here in the forums might be able to answer this! Maybe this is just a matter of too much attention to detail on my part - but I am also in California where I could imagine that having a sticker that says 2016 on a 2021 could potentially cause unwanted problems during smog checks down the road... |

I think your parts counter guy steered you wrong. They are a gm genuine part, should have a part number for your car, and be available through the dealer or gm parts. A google search turned this up....Good luck.

Just a thought your VIN # is in the corner of the window and they look at that. We tried that in AZ. years ago and it never worked, and Calif. is just nut'z about going green. No new gas stations.
