Brand new 2019 ZL1 feels slow and sluggish
I recently purchased a 2019 ZL1 A10. And unfortunately it is not living up to the hype. I'm not sure if I'm missing something or what but the car feels extremely slow and laggy no matter what drive mode I'm in. Although the weird thing is that the car is most responsive (although not by much) in tour mode instead of sport and track. My 2SS that I traded in felt much faster all around. When I bought the ZL1 I thought it felt slow initially due to the break period. But now I'm at 3000 miles and the car still feels extremely slow and sluggish. I have taken it to the dealership twice and they assured me over and over again that the car is fine. And that they were "thrown back in the seat" when they drove it. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'm so confused. I've watched countless videos and everyone swears this car is a monster and is extremely fast but I'm just not seeing it. This is the first supercharged car that I have owned. And I feel like I wasted my money. I am initially coming from a Charger RT and Camaro SS. If I had known the ZL1 felt this sluggish I wouldn't have bought it. Any thoughts? Could someone please inform me if I'm missing something or doing something wrong.

trade it in immediately and get your SS back!!!
Side note, race mode takes sharpness out of the throttle but tightens up steering and suspension. Find someone with an SS and race them, if you get beat either you don't know how to drive or you have a lemon. |

Have you driven it in sub 70 degree weather? Based on your location, just wondering if the heat is pulling a lot of timing.

@gotswap SS was sold immediately. Like the next day after they posted it on their site.
I'll try that. Unfortunately, I'm new to the car scene and don't personally know anyone with an SS. But I'll look around. Thanks for the input! |

@IneedAZ I have before since I bought the car in mid Feb.
Not lately. But didn't notice a difference. Still really slow. |

You could have air pockets in the supercharger cooling circuit. I got the air out of mine and it was a big difference.

Car has built in performance metric counters and there are countless tools and apps (and drag strips) that will verify performance...

ZL1 is just soo smooth its deceptive. 2SS FEELS fast , ZL1 IS Fast Line up with someone in a similar 2SS car you should be impressed by the gap you can get on them. I installed one of the throttle controllers to counter act GM's slow response throttle , Started on... 4.. too much , then 3 not bad , now 2 , might go back to 3 . But gotta be careful on 3 it will light the tires too easy on turns to merge off side streets.

How do you recommend I check for this or get it checked out? I really don't trust the dealerships. I feel like they just tell me whatever or don't actually really check anything but the obvious things.
