Front Seal Blown

Didn't quite make it a year. I was getting on her today and in high RPM's she started to make a smoke cloud. I got out of it and smoke went away. Car runs fine with no issues/noises. Took the below pictures and looks like a front seal?

*edited so people don't have to read the entire thread.*
Seals blown because of ringland failures on two pistons. Rebuilt engine with a lower compression and other goodies.

That’s my biggest concern right now. How much boost were you running and did you have a oil cap breather to help vent the crankcase?

Running around 9-10 PSI with no added crankcase ventilation.

Gotcha. Well good luck with getting everything fixed. Luckily it sounds like you didn’t have any damage to your internals. Keep us updated on how everything works out.

Mine did the same thing around 10psi.

I got what is suppose to be a ls3 seal but the part that rides on the balancer is a little smaller and I think it is way too stiff to stretch over. I wonder if they gave me the wrong seal.

To be on the safe side I run dual crank case vents.

1. My Mightymouse Solutions catch can vents to atmosphere from the valley port and
2. Metco one way valve cover breather that replaces your oil fill cap.

Hope you're able to get the LS3 seal installed quickly.

Thanks for the info. Would you happen to have the part numbers? Would installing the Metco breather on a non boosted engine make any sense?
