The marketing info from Big Mike's / StoNSho is, IMHO, confusing. They have a variety of different plate kits advertised for the Camaros and they all use the same photos. The listings don't really differentiate one over another, either.

Your best bet would be to call Big Mike's and ask about fitment. They will tell you which one fits properly so long as your car has -only- OEM parts on it (it can be modded, but only with GM parts - anything else and you have to "figure it out" manually).

I called and talked with both Mike and Steve because my car has a EOS ZL1 Style Splitter that I installed. I took photos and measurements and discussed it with them. They suggested the SNS89A for my car and it fits perfectly.

Install takes 10 minutes and requires a 7MM socket and 3MM allen wrench. Make sure you get the bracket nice and tight and check the clearances of the pins and such afterward to ensure nothing will rub.

I was pulled over doing 76 in a 55 a few weeks ago, after he took my license and registration he went to the front of the vehicle and looked at the grill l was sure he was going to give me a ticket for no front plate but he didn’t. So I bought the Sto N Sho the next day. I found it on amazon for $66.00 I’m sure the ticket would have been more.

I know I am resurrecting an old thread. I just installed the Sto-N-Sho plate holder on my Z. It looks great on the car, seems sturdy and doesn't seem to block air flow (at least not significantly). I plan to use it daily in the city. My only question/concern is if it would hold at high speeds in the highway, as there is too much air resistance. Any bad experiences at high speeds so far?

Zero issues having one on my 2016 for about 40K miles. I did have a zip tie on the quick-release just so it wasn't too easy for someone to walk away with the front plate, but I am not sure if that helped at all in connection with your question.

Depends on your definition of "high", but I never had a problem (back in the state I bought the car in where front plates are required), even at moderately high speeds

Mine was slightly angled backwards, so the air didn't hit it like it's a brick wall, airflow is directed into the grille. Still a lot of resistance, but then its surface area isn't awfully large.

Thank you for your comment arpad. I still may remove it when I am in the highway (motorway here in the UK!). I haven't heard of any bad experiences so far, just a precaution.

Sto n sho in uk

I have a sto n sho on my camaro in the uk. No problem with motorway (or beyond) speeds. Had it on for 18 months or so now, hasn't deformed or loosened at all so wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks Uk2019. How tight do you go with the screws that hold the bracket on the lower lip? It seems that you cannot tighten them up too much. I guess this is what worries me lol!

Sto n sho uk

Since the bracket is screwed into plastic i went with the original torque spec of 2.5Nm/22lbin. It has a flat plate and multiple screws so spreads load nicely- seems to have been well designed. Not only have motorway speeds not loosened it but a small scrape going up a steep drive didn't cause a problem and prevented any damage to the bumper!

That's good to know. I don't have a torque wrench, but I screwed the bracket finger tight with a T20 bit simply using my fingers and then almost 3/4 of a turn using a small ratchet. I hope that will hold it in place in the long run!

Zero issues at highway speeds as "the car in front" (meaning no one is cutting the air resistance for you). Of course, mine spends almost all of its life in the trunk. I keep forgetting to reinstall it after I wash the car...

I only managed to keep it on the car for a couple of weeks. The base metal plate mount lowers front ground clearance and, no matter how careful I 've been, I scraped it going up a steep drive

I am going to remove it and use the ZL1 tow hook plate holder instead.

The mounting plate itself isn't much worry, but you're right that the license plate will definitely sit a bit below the rest of the car, AND it sticks a bit further out in front. So approach angles get tweaked a bit.

I pretty much never have mine installed, so I've never had a problem w/ scraping anything. I could see where some situations could make it more difficult.
