Agreed 98%. I was happy to sell my ZL1 for cash. No more credit card debt!!!

So $$ was a factor for me. And I was happy to be able to buy the Camaro of my dreams for almost the exact same price as my 2011 2SS M6. While I car-loved that Camaro, my LT1 is my dream car. And it was built on my birthday! It was love at first sight.

If you have the $$ go for it!
I concur also with comments about liking the ss wheels, blade spoiler, hood wrap etc, better.

I have no credit card debt and I only financed $10k when I traded for the 2SS 1LE. I'll have it paid off next spring ...God willing.

I was just trying to point out that I stay 2SS level because its more than enough for what I do. I could afford a ZL1 but the power isn't useable. I even observed that the A8, in my 16 2SS, lead me to drive it faster than I do the M6 in order to wind the engine out because the early shifts happen so soon. I didn't manually shift the A8 because that seemed stupid to me

I disagree with some of the comments. I traded my 2017 1SS 1LE in February of 2020, for my 2020 ZL1. I LOVED the 1LE. Unbelievable handling, but eventually I wanted a bit more power.

I don't track the car. Can I fully utilize 650hp on the street? Of course not. BUT, the difference in the torque at all rpm's is startling, and I use and enjoy that every time I drive the car. Fuel consumption is not an issue for me because I only do around 6500 mile per year. City and highway fuel consumption is only 1-2 mpg less.

Although you can't utilize the car's total potential on the street, there's plenty of it that you CAN use.

Agreed, I think the point is you can't really use all the power in an SS either so having the extra power for the on ramps, track and drag strip is nice. If you want to use all the power on the street the better option is a Miata or BRZ. In those cars you can wind out 1st, 2nd and part of 3rd without risking jail time but you will more than likely miss the grunt and sound of the V8.

This one is only 130 miles away from me. Would be perfect... Maybe I should upgrade.

I have a ZL1 with the A10 now and I agree, paddle shifting on the street is a bit weird. Too many gears, it would make more sense on a road course. The beauty of this A10 is how much more aggressive it is than the A8. You give the throttle a quick jab and it wakes up and holds the gears and gives you the exhaust burble you normally only get on a manual while holding a gear on decel and the upshifts are ridiculously quick.

Agreed about manually shifting an A8 or A10. I do not know about the A8, but that A10 in my ZL1 was the most playful automatic that I have ever driven. Drive it normally and the shifts are fast and smooth. But when you put your foot in it, it will respond with "Okay! let's play." with firmer shifting and downshifting. Very cool. And your 2SS 1LE is a very rare beast!

The A8 was this way too. A quick blip of the throttle and performance shift mode would activate. On highway or city streets. I LOVED it!! Letting it downshift as I was approaching, and turning into, an event was insane. Same with the hit when I got into it ...jump.

What I was referring to was my desire to stay WOT with the A8 to catch the next upshift forced +100 mph stunts. The M6 is more controllable at low speeds (ie 1st and 2nd shifts) so its more enjoyable around town than the A8 that upshifted fast at low speeds.

BTW. The 3-4 upshift in the A8 was so strong if felt like I got rear ended.

EDIT: I'd add that I think a ZL1's power makes sense to have the A10 unless you're just tracking it.

Ha! Not even a question. Went from a modified 2SS to my ZL1 now. have 200 miles on it, can't really even give it a good beating yet and it's farrrrr superior.

If you can afford it, it's a no brainer.

I had a 2016 SS with the A8 and it was good, well until the shudder started, but it was quick. The A10 in Sport mode is much more playful, it seems to downshift quicker and hold gears longer even when you are not driving very spirited. In my 2016 with the A8 you really had to let it know you were ready to have some fun but in this A10 just a 50% blip of the throttle and it downshifts to the right gear and holds it and waits for me to drop the hammer.

If you want to hold gears around town so you can maximize the exhaust note and burbles you of course need to put it in manual mode but I don't really like the paddles as the car does the shifting much better than I can with the paddles.

I struggled with the choice between the A10 and M6 on this car but I think it came down to the tall gearing in the M6 and how much everyone seems to rave about the 10 speed. The A10 is not as engaging as a manual but as far as automatics go this is the best I have experienced. If there was a way to have shorter gear ratios and be able to wind out the gears more on the M6 around town I would have got it but with all this power shorter gears would just be unusable.

I had a GrandSport with M7 and they use even shorter gears than the Camaro with SS with M6 and C7 coupe (non-Z51) with M7. The shorter gears were more fun on the street.

C7 7-speed isn't as nice to use as 6th Gen Camaro SS 6-speed, though.

Had a C7 Z51. Gear ratios are definitely shorter, but the shifter feels weird with 7 gears and I feel a bit relieved when I got my SS 1LE.
