Why not just put a battery tender on it over the winter ?

I used a storage facility, not my own garage.
If I used my own garage, then yes a battery tender would have been perfect.
As it was, transport mode worked great. I had no issues with start up after 6 months of cold storage.

Yes if you don't have access to power then transport mode is your only option. Unless the storage facility allows you to take your battery with you which I don't believe many do.

I've haven't used transport mode, but I typically put it on the tender if I think the car is going to sit for over a week. Well, it sat for over two weeks (with startups and very short drives)..and the battery was dead this past weekend.

You're battery is also at least two years newer than mine. I may look into getting a new battery, if that is even the issue.

I put my car in a storage unit during winter. I took the battery out of it and brought it home, put it on a tender. How would the storage unit know you took the battery out of it?

Finally de-badged my 2021 RS the same as my 2016, except this time I did it myself. Bye bye fender chiclets and rear bow tie...

Did a decon wash to remove old protection and waxed it with DoDo Juice Shinecraft Hybrid wax.

Coated rims with Polish Angel SuperSport.

Some storage facilities won't let you take your battery in the case of a fire and they needed to move your car quickly.

Sooo, I'm assuming they have a key for the car as well..? Very strange. I've never heard of this nor would I ever do something like this with one of my vehicles.

Looks good! Which part of WA are you in? Maybe I could borrow your SS instead of driving a hooptie from the airport. I will be going there for the first time this coming July.

Yes you leave a key with them too. There's two large facilities in my town that store cars over the winter and they both require this. It's not like their taking your car joy riding over the winter. In the case of a fire I'd want my car moved and saved if possible.
