It's ON!

I finished the last of the supercharger install this morning. Got my tune from Edelbrock and I'm ready to see if this thing will start. I just need to put the front end back on it and do a shake down trip...this is pretty exciting for me.

In all, the install went pretty well. It would have been easier with good instructions. We had to study and debate what the instructions meant and often found we were wrong. It isn't easy, my ASE mechanic guy is pretty smart but even he was stumped on some of the instructions. But, I thank God he was available to help.

I will certainly get back with you all once I get it on the street. Thanks to a lot of you for tips and feedback...it all helped plenty.

It's ALIVE!

I finished the last few steps of purging the coolant lines and installed the tune from Edelbrock. I can't tell you how apprehensive I was when I pressed the start button...and voila, it came back to life!

The install was pretty technically tough even for my professional mechanic with years of experience. Not that the actual install was a problem, but the Edelbrock instructions, although accurate for the most part, were not sufficient to easily identify the components and locations of the parts. I actually enjoyed the process.

I tried to upload a video, but the system tells me my token is no good...oh, well.

Well, it's kind of alive!!!

It seemed strong in the garage, but when I got it out for it's first easy test drives, it stutters a lot at 4,000 rpm. I was very disappointed and when I stopped for gas and restarted the engine I found a code. It read codes 0171 and 0174 left and right banks lean. I got hold of Edelbrock tech and they said to check everything over to see if it's installed correctly (which it is) and that all the hoses and connections are tight. They also said to uninstall the tune and reinstall it to make sure the Edelbrock Calibration was programmed. It was.

On the next day, the code was gone and I started and stopped the engine several times and the code did not reappear. Then with a little more spirited drive, the code returned.

I called Edelbrock twice and had them call me back. The first guy that called back knew nothing about superchargers. And I never got a call back on the second. The next day I called Edelbrock again and their voicemail says they won't reopen until Monday the 18th. Since the engine is running lean, I'm taking no chances and the car sits in the garage.

Anyone ever had that code after a SC install?

All Is Well With the eForce

We had a few self-inflicted glitches, but Edelbrock tech support came through admirably.

The car is complete all buttoned up and running like a champ. A pic:

Very nice.. just think a cam, some drop in pistons w lower compression, return style low side, Crawford or GPI adds fuel rails, and stand alone Holley or haltec with wide band and your making 1000 plus for 10k or less you cant even get an XDI fuel setup for that.

Any dyno runs? These stuff is right on usually when advertised atleas out can tune 6 gen was 551 on mustang and 583 on dynojet.

Did you pee in your coolant tank after drinking a Monster?
But seriously where's the Dexcool?

I don't want to think about cam, pistons, fuel rails...etc, etc. At least not for now. I am thinking about beefing up the suspension and upgrading the fuel system fairly soon. Then, a dynotune. It is on the Edelbrock tune for now and it feels like it's making at least the 609 to the crank they advertise. Very strong!

I had a feeling someone would notice that...lol. I spent an hour plus cleaning the engine and under hood and tried to make everything look factory knowing it would be scrutinized by some. I happened to have a bunch of 50/50 coolant and didn't want to run out to get some.
