Procharger pulley question??

Couple questions..

1. Does the stock LT1 crankshaft have a keyway and does the balancer have a slot so it is a "keyed joint"? If they are not keyed then how does the balancer not slip when the crank turns?

2. Can anyone explain exactly how the camlocks work? I basically put the pulley up against the balancer and turned counterclockwise then tightened all the cam bolts until they stopped then torqued the crank bolt. 1 guy on here told me the cam locks are actually supposed to pinch the spokes of the balancer but I don't see how that's possible..I've driven about 100 miles so far no issues. I guess I'm just paranoid

I don't think the LT1 has a keyway. You need to pin the crank to keep it from slipping. There are plenty of kits out there and they aren't expensive.

You should ditch the factory balancer altogether and go with an ATI balancer. They have bolt holes for the Procharger crank pulley to bolt right on to.

The factory LT1 balancer is keyed, several people have confirmed this.

don't think they pinch, from memory the all tighten in the same direction , vs pinching the spokes of the damper.

Factory crankshaft is keyed. All you have to do to tighten the crankshaft pulley is apply e-brake and put tranny in 4th.
