Have not driven a manual in 30 years. Any changes?

I am trading or a Manual 2SS! I took it for a short test ride. It felt awesome! But i have not driven a manual in 30 years. Anything new I need to know? The emergency brake is the biggest difference. Thanks!

Great choice! It should be a lot easier to drive than a manual from 30 years back. I think the clutch is very easy to get used to, and with all of the torque it's pretty hard to kill it.

I also struggled with the e-brake at first, but I've gotten used to it now. I've also learned that you can just put it in first and slowly let the clutch out and it will release automatically.

Clutch is easy these days because of hydraulics....
Quick and easy shifting, Keep in mind, a lot of torque management these days.
You cant dump the clutch at 4k like the old days, LOL

I hate the electronic parking brake. Always do the opposite. I have to remember push off (like in basketball) or I have my son control it lol

Nope, I have been driving a manual for over 40 years- it's the same as it has always been. Once you learn, it's like riding a bike- you never forget.

Just pretend the e-button is the same as a manual e-brake. Pull back to engage, push down to release.

Yup E Brake took some getting use to. Active Rev Matching is amazing. Skip shift can be annoying, but just run out the RPM's a little more. I also just read up on "No-Lift Shift". I have not tried that but was watching videos on it last night. Looks cool. Too wet out today to open her up.

I hadn’t driven a manual car for about 10 years and then I bought a 2015 Mustang GT w/ performance pack (only offered in manual). The mt-82 transmission in that car sucked! At first I thought I was doing something wrong when shifting. The clutch feel was so vague. I removed the clutch spring which helped, but then the clutch was so heavy to press, I didn’t even need to do leg day at the gym, lol.

On Labor Day this year I picked up an 18 2SS manual and immediately the clutch / transmission on the Camaro was awesome. So smooth and easy to engage. Even my wife noticed right away that it was better than the Mustang. I now enjoy driving a stick again.

Throttle take up is bit slow ( eaming rate at which engine open throttle as you let off the clutch. Smooth starts take considerable effort due to jumpy throttle / slow auto-throttle we'll call it.

+1

I had a 2011 GT/CS. The MT-82 ruins those cars. I am surprised they still put them in the new Mustangs even though they "beefed" them up.
