Questions about purchasing a 1LE

Hey guys currently I’m looking into purchasing a 2018 1SS 1LE. Thing is it has 41k miles and I wanted to get peoples perspective on it. Is it too high mileage? What things need to be changed replaced at that mileage. Anything significant I’d need to know? Lastly is there any common issues or complaints that Is known of too look out for? Kinda like the 2016 torque converter issues etc. Thanks y’all!

I wouldn't hesitate. I would ask for a carfax and do the normal stuff you would do with a car that doesn't have a mechanical warranty.

Just a casual read here but if you want an 18 1LE and you're asking about the torque converter...LOLOL

Otherwise solid cars but you know a specific model of car like that I would have to presume that it was run hard, and I don't mean tracked.

Too the main thing is that I would ensure that the balance of the powertrain warranty is intact and don't let any one tell you that but get it from Chevy. We've seen instances of used cars having been tuned and something nasty happens and the dealer tells the poor guy ya sorry, it's void. So I'd doubly ensure you get definitive word from Chevy on the balance of any warranty.

Yea I figured as much so but more so was asking because I wouldn’t be able to see the car in person since I’m not in the same state as that person and currently deployed.

Hey now we’re not talking about the 1LE don’t make fun of me I’m referencing to the instance with the 16s A8 having that issue. Just making sure there’s not a situation like that with the 1LEs I need to look out for. But it’s used from a guy how could I get it cleared out from Chevy? Just give them a call or have the guy bring it into the shop to get it checked out and make sure the warranty is still in place?

Have it brought to the Chevy dealer and ask them to do a pre-purchase inspection.

The only overly expensive consumables on teh car are front brake rotors.

They are also susceptible to rock damage/chipping in the paint because of the wide tires, unless the owner used clear bra there's probably significant paint damage in a few area, esp. in front of the rear wheels. It's also easier to curb the rims on these cars because of the visibility. I'd check these and make sure the price reflects any paint damage.

The seller is asking for 32500 but obviously the price is that much because of the inflation in the used car market rn. The prices for 16-18 2ss are ridiculous lmao

My 17 SS 1LE has 44k miles and haven't had any problems so far. My lease ends on August 1st but I think I'm going to keep it, buyout amouns is about $28k

straight forward advice, sight unseen I think is a terrible idea. Just from one military member to another it's rife for being taken advantage of in a myriad of ways.

If you have the dealer inspect and test drive it, plus if a friend you trust can check it out and test drive it, I think you'll be fine.
