Would you take a 6th Gen V6 Hybrid @ 40 MPG & 400 HP over a 455 HP SS V8?

Lets say that that our current 6th Gen Model came with a fully loaded submodel that costed as much as a 2SS, making 400 HP but could also pack up to 40 MPG when driving conservatively and packing up to 400 HP when wanting to enjoy it. It probably wouldn't handle as well as a stock V6 due to the extra weight of the powertrain, and you probably wouldn't beable to easily mod it due to complexity.. ..but it would still be a thrill and very fuel efficient.

Would you go for it? or just go for the SS?

It would be a tough choice for me.

You don't buy a Camaro for fuel efficiency, you buy it for the great sound (SS with NPP) and the fun to drive...

I certainly didn't buy my car for it's fuel efficiency. I would even take a 400hp V8 over a 455hp V6, simply for the sound of 8 cylinders.

True, Im posting as a poster who owned both. I loved my 3.6 V6 when I had it and it had more pickup than the average driver needed. My SS is an absolute beast but I have retired it to the garage while dailying a Prius around to conserve miles and wear / tear unless I want to have fun with it. Obviously the Prius is nothing in terms of performance but I can crack some amazing fuel mileage numbers out of it and sometimes I cant help but wish to have my cake and eat it too.

No. I wouldn’t take any V6 over a V8

This. The discussion ends here. There’s no other reason.

I would take any hybrid version. I'm ready for the change to electric.

No car with a Camaro badge must ever be electric or hybrid. End of story. They can make any car they want as an electric but it must not have a Camaro badge. I'd hope they retire the name before making it electric. It's too historicaly tied to American small block muscle to have an electric anything in it.

Nobody buys a Camaro for fuel mileage and most people don't leave them stock which further hurts your fuel mileage so no chance on a hybrid, give me the sound and aftermarket parts for my Camaro.

Only way I'd buy one is if the power was higher than than the current v8 and it would have to be completely electric not a hybrid v6.

Not even close, I'd take the SS. I have a V6 now and love it- mainly for the lighter weight and I average 33 MPG. And it has 334 HP. So the extra HP and being heavier, it might be the same power to weight ratio as the current V6. So why pay more for a heavier car? I would stick with my V6 or just get the SS.
