I haven't seen pink DexCool for sale in North America, only the orange type posted above.

I doubt they are chemically different, just with different dyes. I used 150 mL of DexCool with 150 mL of boiled+filtered water to top off the lower coolant reservoir.

You probably need a little more than half a quart/litre. Personally I wouldn't worry about it, the change of hue will be very slight since there are 10+ quarts/litres of coolant in the whole system.

Some also say online that the orange dye will eventually break down after heat cycling and become pink. I doubt this is true but at the same time, you could probably have a pot, put some mixed DexCool in it, boil it, cool it, rinse and repeat a few times to find out.

Factory fill is pink, as the photo above shows.

Dex cool turns pink when you mix it with distilled water. Pink factory Dex Cool is the same exact thing as orange dex cool concentrate.

I bought premix for my camaro because I didn't want to bother using a second container to mix. It came out the exact same pinkish color as in the reservoir and was roughly twice as expensive.

Does this car LT1 use coolant? Should it be normal to have to add coolant every few thousand miles? I've seen a few more LT1s on YouTube and on here, that also seem to be low.

I thought it was a closed system; the manual says the lower tank level can evaporate over time or in hotter climates. I thought coolant wasn't supposed to do that.

No seal is perfect, so you always have some evaporation happen.

And it's not just Chevy's. My RX-8 would see a small amount of coolant loss, even with a new cap. As long as it's not excessive, I wouldn't worry about it.

That said, there are a few examples of empty lower reservoirs I see on the web and one case in real life. I checked out a friend's Camaro V6 and saw that the lower tank was bone dry while the top is missing some coolant. I gave him some of my Dexcool, mixed it with distilled water, and topped it off. I don't know how it is now, but I think it should be okay.

I don't think that is low? Mine brand new from the factory looks just like that photo, level wise. Thought it was low until I checked the manual.

Here is the "full" levels as shown in the manual... The bottom tank appears to be properly filled. By design, it should look 'low'. The top one should be filled to the brim.

There are some reports of the lower tank being completely dry with top tank missing some coolant on the forum.

I just followed those links and both said this does not fit your 2017 Camaro SS. I know Amazon gets things wrong sometimes though.

You can use Water Wetter, same color, also helps reduced engine heat.
