They always seem to get something completely wrong when rendering camaros lately, and I don't why.

The concept of the design is cool, but the body style and shape is awful.

I’m of the belief that the only 1st gens that should even be touched to do any kind of restomod are the straight 6 two speed power glide dogs without the RS package, or a car that isn’t numbers matching and the original engine and transmission are long gone and untraceable. Because any first gen with a V8 and/or RS package is too nice, too valuable, and too collectible to cut and hack up. If it’s numbers matching, it could be the nastiest rust bucket of rotted steel you’ve ever seen, it’s still worth a complete factory chalk mark rotisserie restoration.

If a straight 6 power glide was in mint condition it’d still be only about a $20,000 car. Any RS and/or V8 configuration and you’re getting into $60-80-100k values and up. Don’t cut those up for any kind of restomod.

The 69 Camaro doesn't need any modernization as far as body goes. It's perfect. You can't improve on it. The only thing it needs to be modernized is a chassis upgrade and an LS/LT engine swap.

Not even that. Leave it completely stock. Bad steering, worse fuel economy, and rear drum brakes make the complete experience of owning one. No one knew any better in 1969.
