I wonder if the seats will get softer with time and wear. I don't find my 2SS seat uncomfortable at all and I'm at 3000 miles on the car so far.

In the 54 miles I owned mine before it overheated and the dealer bought it back from me, I found my 1SS seats very comfortable.

I'm 5'9 170 31 inch waist and mine was comfy to me. Never had an issue comfort wise. Now my 09 Z06 was awful lol

Watching a Camaro seat tear down from leatherseats on YouTube, I spotted a metal brace that could be a source of the issue. I've taken it off and will know shortly whether it has any effect on the issue.

I performed a comparison of GM Alpha platform seats. Clear Cevy design went overboard with foam, plastic supports and cheap wire supports. I need to emphasize that cutting costs of a sinus based wore system gives me one heck of a pain in the ass. On the other hand, Cadillac's design excels in the area of comfort and may be a good source for donor parts.

1. At a minimum.. the hard plastic bolster supports in the foam need to be reduced.
2. double stitching on the bolsters will need to go.
3. Foam on the front of the seat will also need to be reduced.
... but will this fix the situation and will it look good?

ATS looks like the better quality seat, and includes the lumbar. Can we swap in these ?

ATS seats may be an option.

Here is the fix I was hoping for. Exposing the side of the seat, I unlatched the seat cover, pulled it up, tucked the fabric under, cut a slice with an exacting knife to expose the steel wire. From there I hooped a nylon strap around the steel wire, attaching the hooks to the opposite side of the seat frame.

Applying tension while pushing the side down effectively moved the wire out of the way.

Total cost is under $10 for a Harbor Freight tie down. Install time is about an hour.

So, I figured I'd read some more follow up posts from the OP. He started this thread in April of last year. Never posted anything else. Ugh!

No, since it's takes 10-15 minutes of driving before the pain starts (probably the result riding on bumpy Louisiana roads) and I don't want my dealer driving my car all over the city only to tell me nothing is wrong. I plan to take the seat out and fix it myself. But, Chevrolet (GM) should be ashamed of the seat's design, it's too small at the back for anyone over 150 lbs. (I weigh 168) with too little padding.
And, have you ever sat in the back seat!

Ditto! My 5th gen seats were definitely more comfortable for long-distance drives. My 6th gen seats are better for more aggressive maneuvering, but are lacking a bit in the comfort department.

I get bruising/soreness on my left mid-thigh to a few inches above my left knee when driving--especially when my brake foot is over on the dead pedal. I, too, find that, if I angle myself slightly towards the center console, I get some relief--but who can drive like that all the time?

Honestly, this is my only real complaint about the car. If I could fix the seat bolster, this car would be the closest-to-perfect vehicle I have ever owned.

I'm 180lbs (5'10"). Just finished an 1100 mi round trip in my 1SS. Zero issues. Very comfortable the whole trip. And I found the seats uncomfortable the first month or so of ownership on longer drives. Not anymore.

I'm also 5'10" and around 180 lbs. Slender build. My car is now at 45k+ miles...still uncomfortable!

I tell you very uncomfortable, My hip right where the femur bone connects is where it stays sore for a while after driving the car more than 30 minutes. I hope there is a quick easy remedy for this that actually works....
