What Color Calipers on Ashen Grey with Black rims?
Hey All, I am going to most likely swapping on a set of ZL1/CTSV/ZO6 Calipers and I was wondering what color would look the best, I have found new complete sets of CTSV calipers for a good price in Yellow and Silver and I probably could leave the decals it comes with on, The ZO6 I would have to remove.
I have Found a few sets of clean ZL1 Calipers as well in Black and alouth not a huge fan of the decal ( and not trying to claim its a ZL1 ) I could leave the decal until I decide to repaint them if I choose to. Is there a way to remove just the ZL1 on the caliper? The CTSV Silver looks like the Z/28 color caliper. Just trying to get Ideas.

I was recently looking into this swap as well so don’t forget the new rotors. Personally red is so overplayed anymore I would never consider it so I vote yellow as I think the silver or black wouldn’t stand out.

Yes I have a post below yours in the Brake section , I have everything I need now but the Calipers and Rotors. I am not sure how much I want them to stand out, i really like the color of the stock caliper on the SS. I honestly don't really want to get into painting them even though the time would be now to do it.

My car is Black and I have the typical red now but I used to have Purple Calipers and loved it. It was different and really popped against the black wheels.

I did lime green. Orange would look great as well.

I really like the color of the Stock SS Brakes, I ceramic coat mine once in a while and they just look good, I am not sure what color that is. I am finding calipers in really nice shape but I am not sure if I want the Shiny Black of the ZL1 Calipers. Some of you guys are brave lol, Not sure I would have ever thought of Greens or oranges even purple but I bet they do look good.

To me it depends on the rest of your trim. Something like teal would also look good.

I think yellow would go good with black rims and an Ashen Gray car.

I have Gen5 and Gen6 ZL1 calipers and I don't see a decal you can remove. Seems like you would have to sand through it and repaint.
You could use Gen6 1LE calipers (not ZL1-1LE). They are red with a 1LE logo. $425 ea. for fronts on RockAuto. They will work with GenV ZL1 or CTSV front rotors. The rest will all have a ZL1, Vette or CTSV logo. I believe the Vette Z06 calipers have the most colors including yellow, black and silver.

Personally, I have Silver ICE with Black wheels. I actually went black calipers with SS logo stickers that are red with silver/white outline to match the rest of the emblems. I like the end result.

Since yours is all dark colors I think I would go with day glo/safety yellow.

To get some visual ideas check out some paint or powder coat sites to see if anything grabs your attention. Most of them now show you the colors on a model so you can see how each one flops in the light. Here are a couple.
