Brand new ZL1 vandalized Dash Cam Help

Just bought a new ZL1 less than 2 months ago. Car was parked in front of my business. Yesterday at around 10:00 am someone threw 1 or 2 bricks at my car. Both had "GOOF" written on them. Smashed my windshield, cracked my bumper, and once I wash it, who knows what else...

I am not sure if it will happen again, but just in case it does, can anyone recommend the best front and rear dash cam that actually sits on the dash and not one that attaches to the window?

Also, one that won't drain my battery. Is there ones that have a battery pack?

Wow that damage is going to be very expensive! Sorry that happened to you. Takes a real lowlife to do something like that but the world is full of them. Hope you made a police report and called your insurance company. Do you have any type of camera system set up outside of your business especially in the front? And is there any safe place to park next time you drive it? Hate this happened to you 5150 as us ZL1 owners could have this happen to our cars too. Good luck and I hope the scumbags are found that did this to your ZL1!

Thanks for the reply. No cameras outside of my business, I was going to do that, but if someone is not doing this randomly, wherever my car is parked it will be targeted. I park right out front of the door, I have attached a picture, it's a hair studio. Yes, made police report, and going on Tuesday to insurance. Any suggestions for a great dash cam?

Super sorry this happened to you! :( I currently have the BlackVue DR750s-2Ch with the B-112 external battery for situations just like this. Costed me ~$500. It’s up there in the more expensive end of dash cameras but it’s worth EVERY PENNY!!!

Thank you for the response. I was actually just looking at that one on Amazon. Where does it attach? If you have some time a could take a picture of where you have it installed that would be great, THANK YOU!

I was just about to post pics for you! I have my battery pack behind my passenger seat. The cameras attach on to its dock with some really sticky adhesive onto the windshield.

https://owlcam.com/ - It has cellular and sits on the dash. It can get power from your ODBII port. Easy to stow when you aren't parked. Since it has cellular you can access the feed anytime.
