Im assuming any donor vehcile wouldve been written off for either water damage or t-boned or otherwise structurally damaged beyond repair or beyond the cost of the value of the car.

Its not "easy" but its not "hard" either. Its time and space consuming so it's not for the faint of heart. But if you know what youre doing mechanically its not to bad, just like building a race car.

Anyone want to point me in the right direction as to where I can find the donor car? I cant seem to find salvage websites or camaros in Canada when I googled it

I really think you need to have this motor actually looked at. You've automatically assumed the worst without even diving into the motor to find out what happened. In reality this could cost you a new motor, or it could be something far cheaper to repair.

So I sourced a v6 for sale but seem a bit sketched out.
I did decide to try to turn the motor. It did try to start so made me feel better
Im now deciding between towing it to the dealer or towing it to a shop

SO I feel really stupid....But I am going to post this still....

So my motor isn't blown. In fact, we did a compression test. Got 130 across the board. Cleaned the plugs, boosted the car and it ran. LOL The smile on my face is unreal at the moment.
Car is giving the P0008 code so I am having the chains done I believe on Monday. My buddy and I are going to change all plugs and flush all fluids as well.

Even though I am mad about having to change the chains, it looks like I will be paying 1500 for the entire service vs the 2600 GM quoted me for just the chains.

Just want to thank everyone for their help, truly appreciate it.
Going to get this car fixed, buffed, and going to treat it to a new set of wheels !
