There was a thread with hilarious jokes now missing too. I don't understand why all of a sudden, all these threads got deleted.

Ive been a member on here since 2008, been on the forum since 2007 as a lurker. Seems as time goes by, the forum is getting more and more strict.


And if this thread gets deleted, its pretty ridiculous. I mean its a forum, and I posted this in the Off Topic Section, and nothing here is NSFW.

You can't have "fun" otherwise? You can't read a joke and not find it funny unless it's "NSFW"? And you're a long time member so....you think that matters to anyone but you?

People today seem to have this idea that when they go online, wherever they go just sprang out of the ether and they can do whatever they want.

What I find ridiculous is when somebody agrees to something and then whenever the agreement doesn't suit them, they complain about it. Man up for pete's sake. It was a thread about jokes and a thread about hot women. If that's the only way you can have "fun", go use a search engine and you'll find the internet is DRIPPING with off-color joke sites and sites about hot women. Problem solved.

This isn't a public club you made that's run as a democracy. It's Tran's site, not yours.

Sometimes we used that NSFW as a fair warning to folks who are overly sensitive so if they chose, they could simply not look in there.

Yeah, I am hurt, devastated & pissed. I just needed to vent.

Sorry to hear that Ruby. It sucks when SD cards corrupt. They do corrupt frequently though, especially knock-offs. Back up your pictures in another location (USB drive, for example).

While I used to look at those threads occasionally, I concur there are many avenues on the Net where you can get that. If you want to continue to come here for Camaro info and have input from GM employees and many aftermarket companies buying sponsorships and being associated, you have to keep that stuff out. I'll look elsewhere if I really need the other stuff.

For what it's worth, the hot girl thread really consistently ran out of bounds and didn't stay as it was intended, from what I saw. Multiple warnings about not posting "my favorite hot body part without a name or face". I bet 50% of the posts were random, nameless floozies from soft porn sites.

I'm not even sure what content they consider inappropriate for cause to close a thread. There was a thread about Ladies that own Camaros, I posted one of my pics, and the that got the thread shut down. The one I posted wasn't even one of my inappropriate pictures either.

Unfortunately, "NSFW" is very ambiguous. There are some photos in the new funny picture thread that are already "NSFW" in the right light. Easily left up to interpretation, which is quite often interpreted by the chronically offended.

I think the mods spent alot of their time 'cleaning out' what was not really appropriate. And with all the time spent reviewing content, I'd bet they figured it was 'easier' to just delete the threads.

When I would look @ them, I think they had already cleaned up the content. While I liked to review those threads, I can only imagine the amount of time that was spent cleaning up posts that caused the mods heartburn.

I'm not crazy about deleting the threads but I'm not the one cleaning up the content...

I think a few pushed the envelope and it finally caused the mods to kill all of them

I do think 'hot cars and women' kinda go together -- but -- I don't make the rules for the forum...

You're right. It sucks. I loved reading the hilarious bantering posts and seeing funny pictures in those threads. It's such entertainment. What has made Camaro5 great is the variety of content. I can look up anything I need to fix something on my car, and get a good laugh too. I hope this strictness doesn't last forever.
