Congratulations Vintage!! Glad to see you are back up and running. Hope it all lives up to your satisfaction. Give us another update when you get that thing flying again!

I will ask for one. Don't hold your breath. I will post the failure PDR video ASAP once she is back. I hope they don't mind the 1,800 miles I put on the loaner . . . .

Anyway, I am busy registering for TRACK DAYS!!!! April and May are going to be busy.

Your a brave man. COTA is on my list. Let me tackle it in my ZL1 first and then I would love to take a spin in the new 1LE with you. Definitely need to get some tire and brake money in addition to insurance and gas. Expensive hobby we have.

Deal. I am going to Cresson April 15th. More to follow with COTA always the priority. I will be at the PCA and BMWCCA event in May at COTA for 3 days. A steal at $995. As I sign up, I will post so let's coordinate. It should be easy to get you down on the paddock at pit area for COTA.

Do they allow ride alongs? I've done PCA track days numerous times, but if I remember correctly they usually only allowed them with those in the instructor run group.

Finally have the car back - thank goodness. It amazes me at how much better this car is at everything than the V6 RS AT8 I was driving around. I would not own the A8 or A10 in these cars. That A8 transmission made me unhappy.

Now, the lengthy service ticket says that "cylinders #3 and #4 connector rods failed and caused internal damage." The motor was replaced as well as the catalytic converters.
Youtube video posted
of my sad warm-up lap with engine failure at the end. I have no idea how to do the track overlay - I am a tech dummy it seems.

Any suggestions or help on better video is always welcomed.

Met a Z06 owner on a cruise last weekend that recommended Harris Hill for a first track training experience. Apparently they offer personal training by appointment with classroom and in-car rather than in large group track days. Any experience or knowledge of this program?

Yes, I do recommend it. I have been to Harris Hill 4 times. Personal instruction twice and it was awesome. That was my first track experience and you should go. A great track.

My #1 recommendation for starting your track life would be Harris Hill and Driveway Austin Motorsports class call Fundamentals of road racing??? Scott Dollahite is an incredible pro-driver and instructor.
