Also the 1LE since the last published test has a fully updated eLSD… so it is even better.

Pretty much about how I expected it to go, the PP2 closed the gap, made it at least a respectable showing against the 1LE, but the 1LE was still able to put down better times.

What shocked me a little, was that they still felt the Mustang was a little unsettled.

We can go back to the tire argument ford guys love to use. if the 1LE was using those Michelins, the gap prob would of been 1.5 seconds so. Basically, a beat down. But, that's neither here nor there. Ford has had what? 3 years to make something to compete? They haven't yet. Failed again. Anyhow, next up.........Gt500 vs Zl1 and Zl1 1LE.

I’d like to see the SS 1LE with those Cup 2 tires go up against the GT350R.

None will have diff or trans cooler. The rational will be that the PP4 isn’t a track car and that it’s real aim is super, hyperspastic street performance

Next thing you know, MotorTrend will drop the Mustang off a cliff and claim it hits the ground faster. I just wonder if the engine will blow up before or after it hits the ground?

Disappointing review for the PP2 especially coming after the R&T review.
I will agree with you on lap time, since it is under a second. However, keep in mind the same person put down the lap times at the same track, in the same weather conditions. Also, that person is a professional driver, with more hours and laps on the said track than prettt much anyone else.

It’s a pretty good comparison. Not the best, but a pretty good one.

To me, the best way to compare is to bring together multiple sources. Take a look at the lap times set by normal people in each car on both Mustang6 and Camaro6. Note Lime Rock and Mid-Ohio...

Yes they were. These track times are based of the article coming out next month in the best drivers car article.

I don't think the 1LE content was from this year. It was from 2016 when the 1LE came out. Take a look at the video and the words in the article are almost identical:

Has anyone ventured over to the "other" site? Pretty sensitive folks over there. One guy is claiming Randy may not have been able to drive the PP2 to it's full capabilities but was able with the 1LE.

Plus a ton of obligatory sales figures, gun slit references, and trunk opening size...

Wow.

It must have gotten worse since this am when I glanced over there. When I looked the responses were pretty tame, with one guy having a pretty long post basically saying GM is just better at dialing in handling from all the years of doing it on the Vette and trickling it down.

They may of used the same verbiage, but look at the time. 2016 was 1:37.78, this time was 1:37.77

That excuse carries no weight. Ford has the dialing in suspension coding for the MRC , they have it in the GT350 and GT350R, they aren't just giving it to the GT.

If they are able to keep everything settled in the GT350, they have the knowhow to do it on the GT
