Consider that GM engineers picked the front and rear sizes for good performance, not bad performance.

I'm not a GM engineer, But I am an engineer and have worked on many projects. I'm sure performance/tire sizes are just 2 of the many, many, variables that go into the manufacturing process.....so it is considered, but probably not the over riding driver, which means there is room for improvement based on the wants and needs of the owner.

All my toys over the years.....Harley's, ATV's/UTV's, Jeeps, Sports cars....are usually about $1000-3000 short of performance and looks I've wanted.....(or more, lol)

Why not just copy the SS 1LE setup? that's a proven setup that performs incredibly, the 1le tires have also proven to be great performance for the money.

Goodyear Eagle F1 supercar 3 tires
Front: 285/30/20
Rear: 305/30/20
Wheels
Front:10X20 ET20
Rear: 11X20 ET43

P.S. Skinny front tires are better for steering FEEL, like a miata or lotus. wider is better for grip like a Porsche or corvette
