Remote start

Anyone here have any issues with their remote start?
I'm not sure if it's user error but there are instances where I have to go through the process on the key fob 2 or 3 times to get it started.

Hit lock (edit)
Hold circle button

What am I missing?

Mine acts the same way. You usually only get a 2 remote start limit on it.

I've noticed that behavior on other remote start GM's so I'll say it's normal.

I was just reading that but how long does it carry over? I pretty much exclusively remote start my car. When the car is shut down, it has to start over right?

Maybe I'm not holding the circle button long enough or maybe it's something else. I dunno but it's annoying the fawk out of me now.

No issues with mine. I use it alot too.

I press the lock button twice then hold the remote start button.

Not sure if that makes a difference button that's what I've been doing since 2018 with my car.

Same. Works every time. On my C7 Corvette too.

I wouldn’t call it a problem, but that’s happened to me when the battery needed to be replaced. I wouldn’t expect you to have that issue with your car/fob not being that old.

Relative but not the same. My infotainment would sometimes not display the temperature. This only happened doing remote start. So I started the sequence my pressing unlock before doing the lock and start sequence. That issued stopped.

^^This^^

After two remote starts you have to do a push button start before it works again. It also won't start remotely if the hood is open.

My 21 Z is finicky too. Most of the time it works, but sometimes it takes 2-3 rounds of lock then hold remote start before it will start. My 18 ZL1 was the exact same way.

You can't exclusively remote start the car. As others stated, after 2 successful remote starts you need a "normal" start to reset the counter.

This is probably a "safety" "feature" along the lines of having to hold seat memory buttons down to keep the seats moving (unlike other, earlier GM cars and trucks where you just needed to tap the button), or making remote window closing unavailable (you can open windows, but not close them with the remote).

Interesting. I can't remember the last time I did a standard start.

Well, in all honesty, it may have changed in later model years, I don't have all the details about every trim and every MY Just know that this was definitely a thing in 2018.
