Yeah I feel ya and there's the thing about the Coyote, they are running times n/a stock long block that some peeps on here run with big rumpity ass cams etc. The 5.0L with that 10spd is no BS. I've been in one that was tuned for E85 and he whipped quite a few people with it. I agree the engine note they have isn't very pleasing, if there were a way, I'd prefer the 4.6L firing order. The new 10spd SS isn't worth the price difference imo, I'll just have to save up and keep a look around. While I hear you as for cost of middling, for close to the price most pay for a cam swap at a shop, the 5.0L crowd goes straight to boost and everyone knows how stout the Gen 2/3 Coyote is. I shall be on the hunt though and still visit here/keep you guys updated.

I was always impressed when Justin did this video. Super nice guy too! I actually dealt with him on stuff from American muscle back when I had my mustangs

Are you building a race car or a street car? That doesn’t even matter, there will always be someone better, bigger, and badder than what you got. Drive both, buy the one you actually enjoy driving.

The mod motors aren’t for everyone. They’re torqueless high revving motors, completely different than a pushrod. Some love that, others can’t stand it. Overhead cam motors are why I abandoned the Mustang and why I don’t like imports. I hate having to rev the piss out of a motor to get it to move. I had a sick cobra that I’d have loved to keep it it wasn’t for the mod motor.

You have a funny idea of torque. I’ve owned 2v’s and 4v’s both. They’re all awful.

lol the coyote motor is crap compaired to ls3 torque wise..
we drove 500 miles in my 2013 camaro to part exchange for a new s550..i noticed immediatly how weak the motor felt..in fact it felt slow cramped noisy and plain horrid in comparison.
the ls motors are superb..all that overhead cam 4 valve crap will become a nightmare when it goes wrong..and it's a ford so it will go wrong.
check out the aircon failures driveline vibe problems and leaking water problems.
reads like a horror story on these mustangs..
high speed hood flutter was scary aswell. above 90 mph you could see the hood trying to de-tatch itself lol.
only good thing about the s550 was the 6 pot brembo brakes. everything else was crap.

I'm not sure how Ford can sell them as cheap as they do, but it is what it is. I really wanted the 10spd because it's noticeably quicker than the 8. It's on par with the Mustang at that point, but it isn't worth the price difference. I've seen base GTs with the 10spd going for 29k and the LT1 trim is still 35k. As stated, the price difference can buy a LOT of mods or better cars for the money. I'm just really disappointed to be honest. Was hoping since I was a previous customer and 2 time Camaro owner they'd wanna keep me as one. Guess it's not the case. So I will be looking harder at the Mustang now since it's truly bang for the buck. Yes I've driven both and they are both fine cars. Just really bummed on how GM is repeating history all over again.......
So, the drive out, as in after tt&l, all in, drive it off the lot was 45.5 on what must be a 2SS, 2020, with MSRP of $47K? They had to be close to $7K off sticker, that's about 15%. Doesn't sound like a bad deal to me. Sure it may be a little more than a Mustang, but it's also a much, much, better car.

Today is probably the last day of the year closeout for that dealership, if they're open, and they probably are, call them, see if you can get another grand off of that. If they're still short of their number, they might do it.

I don't like the 6th gens at all....I'm 6'2" and have very little room in them......and for me the 5th gen looks more like a muscle car.

The cheapest new 6th gen Camaro SS I've found in my area is $45k.

If I were going to get a new car I would get this instead.

And it's a Ford and will be EXPENSIVE to fix.

The MSRP was 47k, they knocked it down to 45.5k. I guess that's not drive out price then. They didn't take much off at all. I'm gonna just wait and see if I can snag a good deal on a lightly used one. If I could, I'd have the 16 to 18 front with the 19+ rear. I like their headlights much better.

I bought my '18 last August. it had 19K miles, and a manual. I kind of wanted to get new, but I simply cannot live with the googly tail lights, and never mind the front of the '19's, no way. I did really want a 10 spd. I would not even consider the 8 spd in the '18's however.

I have to say though, the Gen 6 is a great driving car. It's a lot more fun to drive than my 2011 was, and the 2011 wasn't bad at all either.
