Aluminum front brace for v6 and v8 but not I4

In before if it makes the power it needs it, whats the deal with the big aluminum boomerang under the front of the car on the v6 and v8 car I noticed my 4cyl car doesn't have it

Is this chassis brace for the bigger displacement engines? or is it something I can buy and bolt on. I'm curious because guys say if you jack up the car from it and it bends its expensive to replace. what is it?!?!

I've attached some pictures everyone play spot the difference Im sure you'll see what I mean.

That's the front subframe. Yours has one too but it looks like it's just steel.

I’ve asked about this brace before. It’s not on my 2018 V6 RS A8 either, but apparently it is installed on the V6 1LE. Would be nice to know if it’s part of the FE3 suspension package and if it will bolt to any 6 gen.

This post has the info from GM on which model gets which brace. You're referring to the "front shear panel."

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=426710

This is very stiff laterally, but not stiff at all from a bending standpoint (bending load would not be really placed on it while driving). You would definitely NOT want to jack from it.

It's not on the LT V6, but is on the 1LE likely due to the higher cornering loading capability on that model.
