Rally Green SS ordered, nervous

This might help some, some might be able to help me. I ordered a 1SS in Rally Green just last Friday 3-27-20 from my local dealer. Only really loaded up models or LT1 models seem have a very good selection on the lots right now. Even though all of us are dealing with the pandemic, my urgency to order arrived with the news of discontinuation of Rally Green for 2021. I did the instant chat with Chevrolet thru the website just today asking about 2020 deadlines. I'm sure this is totally unofficial, since no one really knows when factories will start back up, but was told 2020 production will cease late next month (May) and dealer order should be submitted 4-6 weeks prior to this. I'm calling dealer tomorrow to see what they have to say. Anyone else out there dealing with either Rally Green order anxiety or the other color that's disappearing Garnet Red Tintcoat? If so, any information, and how are you dealing with it?

I am in the exact same boat as you. Ordered a Rally Green LT1 on 3/17. Have a TPW of 4/6 but we all know that is going to change. I talked with Becky and the last day for production of the 2020's is 5/29. I am not holding my breath and probably going to look at trying to locate one already built, but I want to make sure the order gets kicked back before I do. You are now able to order 2021's so if your dealer did not put through your order already, you are probably SOL on a 2020. I would see if you can get your order number and reach out to Becky and she can help you track it. She is awesome and I am glad that I went through her for my order. No one really knows what will happen but I assume the plants will be closed down past the 5/29 date and GM will kick the orders back for change since the color wont be available but I am still holding out hope like you are.

Good luck! I just did a quick search and it looks like there are quite a few RG cars out there in inventory so if your order doesn't come through you may still be able to find one.

Good luck! My order was 3/16, accepted by Chevy 3/17, then......now I have no idea what will actually happen. once an order is accepted, would they really cancel/kick them back even though the delays are beyond their control? I hope not!!!

Good luck to you, I hope they build everything that was ordered before the shutdown, it would be the right thing to do, or risk losing even more sales than they already are.

If things don't work out there are people out there that their only job is to find buyers cars they want. Look them up and maybe you'll find what you want.

I'm in the same boat... kinda….

I ordered 3/6 and had a TPW of this week (3/30). I ordered shock though.
I can't get any answers out of my salesman (even a tentative restart date)
Probably because nobody knows anything at this point.

That being said, I would *think* that Chevy would still be using up current stock. (2020 paint etc.) instead of throwing it out. I'd also *think* that they'd run 2 (or 3) shifts to catch up on the 2020 orders. GM needs cash and workers need checks.

If they run out of paint/parts in stock, you (we) *might be* SOL and our cars roll to 2021's.
The other thing is parts from China (or elsewhere) not being made, or transport delays, causing constraints on vehicle production going into 2021...

I’d think they would build out existing orders for 2020’s. But the cut off date will be cut off date. Worst case find a car already existing and have the dealer get it for you.

You might get a 1of1 2021 rally green

With the deals coming, I would bet you could get one of those loaded up green ones on a lot for close to the same price you were pay for the car you ordered. And you’d definitely get one. That would be my first move. A huge discount on the 2ss upgrade is a great thing

Feel your pain. I love RG, but I’m hesitant to make such a large purchase right now. Seems weird they would go away from it to do another red shade... Any dark red has got to be very close to the existing GRT.

I spoke with the dealer tonight. They gave me a "config number". He sounded confident he could still get me the Rally Green. I hope so. This was talking to the New Car Sales Manager. Should have order number next week.

I still can't believe GM is getting rid of this color. My first car, a 1979 Triumph Spitfire I bought in 1990, was dark green. I owned a '95 Z28 in dark green for 21 years, just sold it in 2018. So I really want the green!

All the thoughts are appreciated, keep them coming if you have more.

I, too, am in this boat. Went into a local dealer on Saturday, 3/14 and ordered a 2020 2SS 1LE in rally green. Got an email from him the following Wednesday saying the order had been place, but since then he hasn't had any status for me.

Still hoping it will work out, and I'll be able to get the one I really want.

You can ask Becky D in her complientary order tracking thread about the actual status of your orders. She is very helpful and a pleasure to interact with. You should have your order numbers ready, it's a 6-character code, you'll see plenty of examples in her thread.
