Iron remover and graphics

Is iron remover safe to spray on hood strips?

They all seem the same (probably because I'm ignorant), but which one seems best?

What about plastic, etc.? Should it be masked off?

They are not all the same. Some are better than others. McKees37 and CarPro are the best. Chemical Guys is the weakest.

I will test some product on some scrap vinyl I have and report back.

OK, heres the results:

YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY, ALWAYS TEST IN A SMALL INCONSPICUOUS SPOT.

Following the instructions of the CarPro IronX and letting it dwell 3-5 minutes there was no damage.

Leaving it on 15 minutes, there was some discoloration.

I think it is safe following the directions but don't let it stay on too long, or dry.

Thanks for taking the time to do that test!!!

I bought the nanoskin.

https://www.amazon.com/Nanoskin-NA-I...CXD4232H60F6Q6

My theory was it was on the cheaper side and probably weaker.

Is the 3-5 usually enough to get rid of rail dust?

Can I spray with a water bottle after I apply to keep it wet if it starts drying too fast?

Do 1 panel at a time and rinse before moving to the next panel.

Ive never kept the iron remover on more than 3-5 minutes. If theres any iron contamination it will turn purple.
