have to wonder if the tuner had to adj the tune to get it to idle ok in gear

I'm looking for some engine mods in near future. Want to keep reliability, but looking for around 800hp on 91. Is there a cheaper route people are going for this kind of power or am I still looking at 10-15k for something like those numbers. We don't have 93 here in El paso.

At that dollar figure and goal in mind, plus reliability I dont see you going with a 2650, but you could get a 2300 for a lot less which makes decent power and be more reliable than spinning the stock one a lot faster building all the heat. I went my route cause i dont want to run meth to get there, but that would help you for the cheap. My route the estimates are in the 15-25k range. Also, if I use my local shop, that price includes heads.

The idle is tuned up from 600 to 800rpm.

I didn't look it up, but maybe the Cammotion stage 3 u have has less overlap than the BTR stage 2.

Well, finally made my decision today and left a deposit with the local shop. They were priced in the middle of the 5 shops I got quotes from, but one of the biggest factors is the fact that it is local in case I have an issue. I appreciate the other 4 for there time and knowledge.

So, the build will be BTR stage 2, Magnuson 2650, 103tb, big gulp, American racing Headers 2" with there long pipes into stock muffler. Still on the fence about which resonators. No cats. 15% lower and 90mm upper. Dsx aux pump. New gm oil pump and timing chain. Upping push rods to 11/32. Doing both eng and trans tune plus just had elsd tuned Friday.

Thats a solid plan. Im thinking 800whp. Speaking of, let me introduce you to Toyo R888Rs in 325/30/20 as you will be needing them just to drive the car on the street.

Yeah, was talking with tuner and I will have 2 tunes. 1 for my regular wheel/tire combo and 1 for drag pack.

Well, my original goal was 750-800. I am thinking I will be closer to 820. Janetty got 840 with very similar setup. He used his grind and LT5 TB.

He had the lowest prices of the 5, but I just couldn't see sending the car so far. Price would start to even out after adding shipping.
