That being said, I have no idea where that performance manual came from. However, I will say it doesn’t hurt to do the 500/1500 if you are so inclined. I’ll probably wait for 1500 to change the engine and diff. I’m not beating on the car right now since it’s new and still breaking in.
I think only the 1LE models get that performance manual. Trust me, the 500 oil change is there.

Just picked up 19 ZLE with just over 500 miles, how do I verify if I have any free oil changes? If I do does it cover oil, filter and labor? If I do not have, how much I should expect to pay for an oil change? And how much for diff change? I assume the car should be getting the 0W-40 ESP for street use

Just have the dealer run your VIN to see if it's available. Yes 0W-40 is your ticket.

Congrats on the new ride..

Hi. Need some help. Dealer installed 0w/40 FS (European Vehicle) instead of mobil 1 0w/40 ESP. The dealer stated that GM puts that in cars now. I said how can you put that in the car when it’s not Dexos approved. He said that’s what GM is sending. Any suggestions?

Great post OP, very informative for me, as I just bought a 2019 ZL1 with 900 miles.
Can someone clarify if the oil and rear diff fluid must be changed at 1500 miles or is this a recommened best practice. The manual just says every 7500 miles/1 year or per the oil life indicator and to basically take it easy under 1500 miles.

I picked up a 2020 1LE a couple of weeks ago, driving it back to Indiana from a dealership in Alabama. When I got back, it was time for the 500 mile service which I had done. I have a track day on 8/1 and it's not looking like I'm going to make it to 1500 before hand....

So would you A) send it as-is, or B) get the "1500" mile service at whatever mileage I happen to be at right before the event on 8/1?

Assuming at 500 they put in 0W-40, you need to change it to 15w-50 before tracking it. Based on what mine looked like at 1500, I’d do the diff as well.

You're correct, they put the 0W-40 in it at the 500 mile service. They did the diff in that service as well. I thought I had read that the 0W-40 was suitable for track and street but apparently I'm mistaken.

Is the diff and oil change nessesary at 1500 miles if I'm never going to be tracking it? Mine had the oil changed at 500 miles, not sure about the diff.
I have a non 1LE ZL1.

If you already changed it at 500 you're good to go with normal intervals now. I doubt they did diff unless you specified it so put that one on your list.

The performance manual in the 20 doesn’t state any of these intervals. I just did the service at 1500 miles. The oil was pretty dark. The rear diff oil looked new, but there was a little bit of metal sludge on the magnet. Idk. 500 miles seems like not a lot to me, so I waited until 1500 miles and took it easy on the car. Now it’s time to have fun.
