I bought my Valentine 1 the year they came out and haven’t had a ticket since - which, given my driving style, is the best testimonial I could give any product. I’ve always kept it up-to-date, and I’m looking forward to ordering a Gen. 2 soon - but not until I see the next update of the R7.
For a more unbiased view, go to www.vortexradar.com. You’ll find tests of all the current detectors independently - and compared side-by-side - in real-time YouTube videos. Look for the subtle differences that will matter where you drive. For example, the new V1 does a good job of filtering out lane-changing radar on other cars, and the R7 doesn’t. But the R7 detects red-light cameras, while the V1 doesn’t. And the V1 offers a lot of options when used in conjunction with a smart phone, many of which are built into the R7. YMMV. |
