No speakers in package shelf?
2023 1SS, not-Bose... was playing with the equalizer and fader and realized the only sound in the rear is coming out of the sail panels (I think). There's virtually no bass. All the bass comes from the doors, so I assume the base system only has two lower-range woofers.
The package shelf looks like it has speaker grilles, but I haven't yet looked under it from the trunk side, if it's visible. Are there supposed to be speakers there? Is it possible to add speakers without cutting into any factory wiring? |

AFAIK only the Bose system (3LT, 2SS, ZL1) has speakers at those two locations.

I’m just going to put 2 cents in here - if you want better bass, in lieu of installing the rear 6x9s, I would encourage you to explore a removable powered sub for your trunk.
I have a JL 10” in my convertible trunk and it absolutly slays that last octave. Here’s a link to Crutchfield and I’m sure there’s some non-Bose sub installs here in the forum. I’m sure other brands are less expensive and sound very good. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-NEgeo1...ubwoofers.html The coolest things about bass are a) that it’s omnidirectional - you can’t tell where it’s coming from and the trunk is fine - and b) your ear is not sensitive to distortion so much - so you can use an ultra-efficient Class D amp and crank it to the limit. Here’s my install. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=561714 |

Oh, and this JL Stealthbox for Gen 6 Camaro looks pretty epic - although the price is a little epic at $1,500 too.

Thanks...and nice install.
I did a bit more searching and found a few threads about adding speakers back there. Too much interior disassembly and mucking around for me. I was hoping, even if unrealistically, there would be unused connections back there and I could buy factory parts to put it together. That's not the case...lol. A powered sub, that might be an idea. I'm not looking for perfection, just a little extra. |

I think the Bose is easier because the amp is in the trunk. With the battery in the trunk too, this makes adding a sub more straightforward.
FWIW, a little info from Crutchfield’s Research Garage: https://www.crutchfield.com/learn/20...et-camaro.html |

Thanks for posting the Crutchfield Research Garage link. I haven't seen any other posts detailing the process for replacing speakers. Very helpful!
