HAHA I understand and expected Holtz to root for ND, but he might as well have worn his leprechaun suit and danced a jig. Root for them sure, but talking heads are supposed to be neutral, I understand some aren't, but he was just ridiculous. At least you know Lee Corso is a joke with his predictions...I knew he would put on the little green suit.

He shouldn't. He played a weak schedule against poor opponents, most of the time. As soon as he plays against SEC-speed (which is still probably a step below the pro game) he is late to plays, a step behind, and not that great.

I think he will still go first round, but the most misleading stat of the game...

Te'o--10 tackles (sounds good)

Most telling stat...

Te'o--0 tackles for loss

On the little dump pass over his head for a touchdown to the TE, he looked like he had no clue.

I also thought it was funny...pregame pundits said Te'o has missed 2 tackles all season...how many did he miss on the first drive and for the game? It is a different game tackling someone like Lacy and Yeldon than his usual competition.

It always makes me laugh to watch fans of a team that will chest thump and loudly chear for their team when the competition is so much less. You play a team that you're favored by 35+ and somehow can root for that is just stupid. I don't even watch OU when they play the pattsies. (If somehow they are on TV somewhere. lol)

I didn't watch the Bama game but only because I had better stuff to do. If I didn't have anything going on I'd have watched it but in college it's better to just check out sports center. For me anyway.

It'll get better for sure. But still not good enough.

College football may not have as much parity, but it is less predictable on many levels...who really thought Louisville would beat Florida like they did? Not taking anything away from Louisville, but all the talking heads were asking if Florida should have been in the BCS game...

Unfortunately for ND they were not as good as the hype. Great season, but not as good as their hype. They barely got by Pitt (should have lost), Michigan had something like 6 turnovers against them and ND barely won again. Alabama throttle Michigan and that was their only common opponent. The talking heads that picked ND must have been on something...Lou Holtz was a joke with his "I can't believe ND is the underdog" comments.

It is tough being ND or Alabama with the hype and expectations their fans have. I am a life long Bama fan and a 10 win season isn't great, it is average...hard to live up to. However, 2 straight BCS titles...3 in 4 years...Roll Tide Roll!
You are the first person I have ever heard to say that.

The 'upsets' are going to happen more of course when you have 60 games per week during the regular season AND there is a long layoff between bowl games.

I will say I'm less of a fan of college football, but for other reasons.

The tradition is gone. Pac 10, gone. Big 10, gone. Rose Bowl? Destroyed now that it's not between the traditional teams.

The need for a BCS? Stupid. It'a all about money, and that some people think we absolutely need a definitive national champion.

I still watch, but I don't feel the attachment I used to since the traditions are gone.
