Fuel starvation problems

I posted in the Zl1 section and didn’t get much response. I put a fore innovations Twin pump in my car to avoid this problem. It’s worse than the stock pump was. I can’t make a right turn. It starts when I get down to 3/4 of a tank of fuel. I called fore but they won’t talk to me. All communications have to be done through email which I think is ridiculous that they can’t take the time considering how expensive their pumps are. What are you doing to fix this problem?

Never had your issue, and I’m not modded. But it sounds similar to @Gunmetalgrey problem that was determined to be a faulty scavenger pump in tank. His thread was very informative- be sure to read all the way through, as there were some ‘false victories’ along the way. I never knew there were two pumps in tank before reading through it all.

UPDATE I WAS WRONG

I had this issue for 2 years off and on and I think it is fixed now... GM replaced the fuel pump 3 times (which caused the problem to go away for a little every time before it came back) then they realized they should replace the scavenger pump which sits on the left side of the saddle/W shaped tank and pumps fuel back to the right side where the main fuel pump is located.

Ok so replacing the scavenger pump did not help, the problem resurfaced today at the track with just a little under 1/2 a tank.

There must be some sort of baffle system that we can add to the tank to help trap more fuel or reduce “sloshing“

There is a Matt and a foam but the fuel gauge won’t work. Another member PMed me a company called Vaporworks. I haven’t had time to look into them. Supposed to be a dual pump setup. One on each side of the tank

It’s supposed to be released soon. Don’t know if it’s listed yet.

Good to know... and you mean VaporWorx right? https://www.vaporworx.com/

I wonder if anyone’s contacted Phoenix Performance about this, I hear they build expensive race versions of Camaro’s so they must’ve encountered this by now, I'll be giving them a call on Monday

I called Katech and Phoenix Performance and neither had ever heard of a fuel starvation problem on a stock Camaro ZL1 ever unless the tank was down to 1/4 or less.

I'm going to keep the car fueled up to the top between sessions and go to my mechanic instead of the dealership in the off-season to due some investigation. Perhaps will get a surge tank fuel cell installed in the trunk.

Just talked to VaporWorx on the phone, he mentioned you, different problems we are having obviously, but he says he's never heard of my problem, but sounds like he's going to do make a few phone calls for me.
He said a dual pump system would be tricky.
