ZL1-1LE Auto vs Manual ?
Automatic vs Manual ... Any regrets?
ZL1-1LE Autos seem to dominate the market at the moment. I am considering this one. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing |

Good price and great color! It’s up to you if you want a manual or auto.

lol... ...if you have to ask - get the automatic. Manuals are now an emotional choice - you either want one or you don't.

Can't go wrong with either decision. Get the one that calls to you.
I'll tell you... for the first time, I've broken down and gotten the 10spd auto... and If you've watched my race videos, I can shift with the best of them... and enjoy that 'connection' with the car. However, this year we plan to run in the One Lap of America, and there is a drag race event that requires some 'consistency'... and so I decided, what the heck... get the 10 speed and see how it does. I also have typically stuck with the manual trans, for better cooling and reliability... (for a more dedicated track car) so this will be a first for me! Best regards, Dave

After having my car for almost 2 1/2 years, I just discovered Race mode. Didn't realize Race mode changes the tune; more responsive and a little more twitchy. So, I found some country road twisties...with some roads with hair-pin curves. Ahhh, the joy of a stick!!!
Moral of the story: Twisties / tracking = 6 speed Straight line / cruising = A10 Auto.

I have always had 6 speeds in my camaros. It was a very hard decision on my zl1. I ended up with another manual and I have no regrets.

I went with the manual as well. It is my personal preference to always keep something with a manual.
Before the Camaro I had an B7 RS4, M6. E46 M3, converted the SMG to Manual. |
