The last 2000 special editions might be worth something, Except there will be a $5000.00 to $10.000 dollar add-in fee. And the orders will be filled within seconds.

Bummer... but the writing was on the wall. I kind of thought if this was the case I'd upgrade to the last model year, but I don't think I'll be doing that. I'll probably hang onto this one until I upgrade to a C8. I don't think I'd pay the difference between my 2SS and whatever a new 2SS 2024 costs... With no real upgrade aside from the A8 to A10 and maybe the Rearview Mirror Camera. The cost just is not justifiable to me. Besides there will be no HBM Color.

Knowing the end is near and that V8s are a dying breed is why I decided to pull the trigger this year. I'm not too concerned about special editions or future value, I just want one last hurrah with an American V8 that I can actually get into and out of while I can still enjoy it, and I don't like anything Dodge or Ford has on offer. I plan to hold onto it until my estate has to figure out what to do with it.

I was hoping for another year or two beyond 2024... i'm going to have to do some deep thinking what to do: trade my current one in for a duplicate 2024 or go into a preservation mode on my current car (weekends + track days)... etc...

Am I the only one that wants to tell GM to stuff their Farewell Special-Edition Package up their a@@?
The Camaro team designed a world class sports car in the Alpha Camaro and earn kudos from enthusiast and the automotive press. So much goodness They failed in aspects of its execution and never cared enough to market it. GM is walking away and their competition isn't (Ford/Dodge). The C8 has 10x the driving compromise so it isn't the answer. I know ...sign of the times. Drive um while you still can

With all the exterior and interior changes without anything mechanical, this reminds me a lot of Mazda's idea of a 100th Anniversary.

why not buy an RS for your daily and limit miles on your current car?

Sorry, I don't understand the "I need to have a new car every 3 - 5 years or so" mentality. Why trade in a fantastic car like an '18 ZL1 or a '19 SS when you can own/maintain it for 20 (or more) years and still have the coolest ride in the neighborhood? I'm gonna hang on to my 5th Gens and enjoy. It's kinda nice that there seems to be fewer and fewer of them driving around.

Just to be clear... This article is just a rehash of all the recent rumors that have been circulating around, isn't it?
i.e., GM Authority is nothing more than another cleverly named rumor mongering site, right, and isn't in any way coming from GM, riiiiiiight? Geoff |

I have a 2016 SS and use it a lot.
By then if I need another car I will probably give the new 400z a serious look, similar speed specs to the SS or I'll got for a Scatpack or Hellcat. I would say CTV5 if I have the cash then but they too will not be around anymore. So I guess either Scatpack, Hellcat, 400z or MAYBE the Mustang but it looks like Ford will eventually bastarize that as well. |

If the farewell edition was a Z28 option I would strongly consider it. Seeing as that does not seem to be the case (so far), I will stick with my original purchase as I have been extremely happy with it.
